A decent router

My family is in need of a new router. We have used a linksys WRT54GS for quite awhile now, and yesterday we bought the Linksys E2000. Unfortunately, it only seems to work on 3/5 of the computers in our home. The other two only get a local connection. After an exhaustive amount of time trying to fix it, I have decided that this just isn't worth the hassle. And to boot, there appears to be a known problem of reseting to factory defaults with power outages. It happened last night and I was awoken to the cries of internet-less parents.

So I want to return it, and get a new one. The whole reason we bought a new one was because my parents want to get a connection in a little studio we built in the backyard. Its only 60 feet from where the router sits, but goes through 4 walls. The E2000 worked fine for that reason, but the other problems are too annoying to keep the router.

I'm just looking for a hassle free router that works at a decent pace and has a decent range. Do they even exist? Does anyone have any recommendations? They were willing to pay $100 for this one, so thats probably my price range.

You'll find lots of suggestions in this here thread http://forums.penny-arcade.com/showthread.php?t=133968

I'd particularly recommend, as I did in that thread, you head over to http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/wireless and do some research. They'll list out all the pros/cons and prices for pretty much any model you can find.

I like the ASUS RT-N16. It will even work as a file and printer server.

i just got a set of Powerline network adapters. If you do any streaming, they are very nice.

It uses your home's electrical wires as a network.
