Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
We've got a group of people pretty new to boardgames in general (myself kind of excluded) and we can't seem to decide what to play this wednesday. Not sure if this kind of thread is allowed, please lock if so, but i guessed its okay to ask advice.
The options are (since there are six of us)
Battlestar galactica (all expansions available) I've played this a lot so i know its fun, but i've played it a lot so i want to try something else
Twilight imperium Never played, desperate to try
Dust, going to play this later in the week anwyay so, also never played
Senji, really kinda wanna try this
Arkham horror, never played
Talisman This seems like it would be hilarious
and power grid.
So i guess the question is, which of these will be the most fun to play if i send out pdfs of the manuals but basically none of the players will have played any of these.
Also there is rum, so all of us will get slightly slushed as the evening goes on
I've only played Twilight Imperium, but it is awesome. Just be prepared to spend a long time playing. There's a 10 turn limit, but that could still take 8-10 hours with new players.
Yeah one player dropped, so dust is out, i think we're down to BSG, Arkham and senji. Instead of talisman we're doing some actual d&d games and we thought ti only took like 4 hours.
