Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Hey all, so I've been playing ICO on my PS2 (traded it in from goozex) and its been awesome and rad
The problem is, I've made it to this one section of the game (just after I got the sword) and suddenly the game refuses to let me save. I sit on the couch, yorda sits on the couch, the save screen pops up, but I cant select anything!
Now the D-pad works just fine, it lets move back and forth between "save" and "cancel", but the X button doesn't work. And it doesn't work when I switch controllers either. All the buttons work just fine in game, and they work just fine in all my other games, and I've never had this problem before!
It may be just a bad copy, which is probably why it was on Goozex.
If you own a PS3 they are releasing a dual ICO/SOTC game that you could wait for.
I've never played either game and I'm waiting so patiently for this.
"At first he thought it might be a natural occurrence - maybe a rabbit. But upon closer inspection, it was clear a knife had been used. And rabbits don't carry knives."
noooo goozex has never failed meeee!
I dont own a PS3, my poor old PS2 is my only console. I have ICO and SOTC, I was just wondering if maybe there's something I could do to salvage ICO but I guessing thats not gonna be possible
Well shoot a mile, I guess I'll just try powering through the game without using a savepoint =/
Not had the problem with ICO, but what size is your memory card? I had trouble with some games not saving on my newer 64 meg card, and had to keep an 8 meg card around just for those games.
I have never had trouble saving until now, and it doesnt even give me the option to save.
I cant even make it to the screen where I choose the file I wish to save! It freaks out when I sit on the couch and I have the option to click the "save" button (which will take me to the screen that allows me to choose where I will save) or the "cancel" button
and then I get stuck in the menu because I cant press any buttons
EDIT: ceres, maybe you should lock this, I get the feeling this is an unsolvable problem
thanks for trying everyone!

The correct answer is "Why on earth would you stop playing. One-shot it to the end"
This is correct. To this day, and i'm a fanatic gamer having played pretty much everything, ICO *still* stands up as one of my greatest love in gaming.
And yes i felt compelled to relate my totally unnecessary opinion in this H/A thread.
