You can't really go wrong with OtterBoxes. I have one on my Galaxy S1 (old phone is old) and it's done a great job of protecting my it. I've never heard of those Tridea guys.

plus i think you pay to have each addition device added

Yeah, and if you have multiple phones on your plan you end up spending way more to keep the same amount of data. Currently its $30 for 2GB for 1 person, so if you have 2 people on a plan You'll end up paying more to get the same 4GB (2GB each) you currently have.

I can't really understand the new pricing. I pay $30 per device now, for 2GB of data.
Are they saying now it is $50 for 1GB plus $40 for each smartphone I add to my account?

So instead of $90 for 6gb, I'll be paying $130-170 for I don't even know how much data but we can share it?

That's exactly how I read it. The first device not being free is really fucking boneheaded but then again, welcome to America, home of the world's worst internet and cell providers.

Yeah, they are pretty great. I'm just thinking I might want to have something to help protect the screen as well, and those Tridea cases look pretty nice.

I also can't believe those shared plans from Verizon. Are they seriously charging more for less data, but you can share it? O.o

Although I'm pretty sure my dad would save money either way. He can't understand how to tether his devices and won't sit down to learn.

    Wow those Verizon plans SUCK.

Guess I will be keeping my Droid Incredible for the forseeable future. Let's see if it can outlast the 4 years I had my flip phone...

Or I guess I could upgrade RIGHT NOW and not have to change my plan...

I chose to upgrade now since Im a little over my Incredible, the damn thing basically reloads everything every time I quit an app.

Question is should I go Android again or just break and get an iPhone? Are there any current Android phones that are about the size of the Inc/iPhone? I feel like all the new phones are teh hueg.

The new Incredible (Incredible 4G?) is supposed to be about 4" and I believe it comes out before the 28th. Thats the only one I can think of off the top of my head.

So my wife is at her wits end with her Nexus. She has this problem where it randomly decides to stop talking to towers. It will still get a wifi signal and can do e-mail etc on there, but 3G and cellular stops working. To make it start working again she has to pull the SIM card and reinsert it. Then, tonight, the damn thing wouldn't charge. She plugged it in with two different chargers and three outlets and none of them would charge until she pulled the battery and reinserted it.

This is her second Nexus and third SIM card. What the hell is going on? She's complained to Verizon and they've refreshed tower data but that didn't seem to work. Her first phone was rooted/flashed, but her second one is still stock. It's weird and she's pissed. :P

Since my main music source in my car is my Razr, I'm looking into upgrading my car stereo to something that will have a better interface my phone. I've been looking at the JVC KD-X50BT. It has bluetooth streaming and two-way control (radio can control phone and phone can control radio). Anyone have experience with this or any other bluetooth car stereo?

So good news for the people who want the Galaxy S III, the Apple injunction request was denied. It can still happen, but it cant happen until after the phones start selling so if you preordered you should get your phone whenever its supposed to release.

Welp, despite my better judgement given my experience with the previous Samsung verizon phone (GNex), I broke down and ordered a GS3. After much contemplation, and Verizon's endless delays, I don't think the Inc 4G will be worth getting. Verizon severely gimped that phone so it doesnt compete with the Galaxy S3 and their new Droid HD, so I'm guessing the development community for the Inc 4G is going to be stillborn. On the flipside, the Verizon GS3 is going to have monstrous developer support (the GSM version already does), so that means there will be plenty of better ROMS to stick on there to purge the touchwiz nonsense.

Sorry HTC, I wanted your phone, but Verizon doesn't want me to get your phone anymore :(

Thats basically how I felt, wasnt super sure the S III wouldnt have the same issue as the Galaxy Nexus but its not like Verizon is offering me a lot of choices. I really wanted the One X, but Verizon said no.

Oh well. The S III has a different radio than the Nexus so hopefully it wont have the same connectivity issues, plus it has a big ass screen (although lower dpi than the Nexus) and I like some of the features Samsung's skin thing adds.

At least I get to keep my unlimited data, it would have been painful to spend $300/month and only get 2GB per phone.

Welp, just bit the bullet on preordering the S3. I'm still using my OG Droid and it's starting to become less responsive, have excessive heat, slowdowns and lockups, holding less and less charge and constant reboots. I was planning on upgrading soon anyways for some 4g action but with the data plan changes I'd have to do it now rather than later to keep my unlimited data.

I've never had a Samsung phone, so...here's hoping it lasts me at the very least as long as my OG Moto Droid.

Are you going to use a case? If so, you really won't notice, even though I agree that the One X feels a lot nicer in your hand. I'm pretty happy with the S3 right now, except I don't really use any of the features of TouchWiz 4, really. *shrug*

I'll probably end up with a case (especially after seeing how flexible the case appears to be in some video; although Im not entirely sure why that translates into poor build quality in my head), but since Ive never used a case I dont even know what to look for.

I think it depends on your personal preference. I prefer hard cases that surround the phone, but some people prefer softer, gel-like covers. Otterbox, overall, is excellent though. Their cases have both a softer, inner layer and a hard, outer layer. *shrug*

Hey, anyone here purchased any of those Crusr Lite cases? I don't know why, but after owning my GNex for half a year, I'm getting the itch to get an accessory or two for it. After seeing just how crappy Samsung's treating the LTE version in terms of docks, I started browsing around, looking for an unobtrusive case. This looks like it might fit the bill... but as it is internet-order only, I'm really afraid to bite the bullet and purchase one sight unseen. This is of course amplified by the fact that they are running a B2G1 promotion, and I'm debating which colors I'd want.

I use Seidio Active cases. The best of both worlds as far as soft/hard cases go, and they seem to be easier to grip than Otterboxes.

So I have a HTC Desire HD and I want to listen to it in my car, but the cigarette lighter in there doesn't work and every FM transmitter I look at seems to need the lighter to power it.

My friend has a USB transmitter thing he plugs into his iphone which doesn't need the cig lighter, is there a similar thing for my phone?

I rented a Kia Rio a few weeks ago that had Bluetooth streaming. It was fantastic. The interface left a little to be desired as there was no way to control the tracks directly from the head unit, but the sound quality was good as far as I could tell.

I have a JVC that has a USB port on it... So I can just plug in my phone and it'll stream whatever song I choose. I can also use a thumb drive to play music too, which is pretty awesome. If anyone's interested I can find the model # and link it here.

I love the shit out of Texty/MightyText, it was super useful if I was in class, but its also super useful at home should I leave my phone in another room. Plus, I can type faster on my laptop than I can on my phone.

Texty/MightyText will also let you know when someone is calling you which is nice.

Was ordering some other cables from Monoprice, decided to drop $5 on a micro HDMI cable for my Razr. Holy Hell, I did not expect things to look so amazing stretched from a 4in screen to a 40in screen. The graphics quality was just spectacular.
