i can guarantee you they make more money than you could imagine on advertisements.
also @BusterK it would not have gotten renewed if it did not rate well. that is how TV works for everyone across the board.

iTunes ones help, but again: no TV show stays alive because of DVD sales alone. that's not profitable.

Late night television is a thing. It can't compete with prime-time, but even the ratings people recognize that they have to treat it like a different league.
The time between each season ha remained pretty steady since the show aired.
I've said this a hundred times but I could care less how long they take to make it because the quality has been so consistent it is well worth the wait.
Also Venture Brothers is one of maybe two TV shows I could ever care about watching. Most TV is complete garbage.

Oh man, I honestly didn't know this has been the regular schedule. I didn't start watching Venture Bros. until right after season 3 started. I had just assumed it was a once yearly thing.
No, this isn't a necropost - it's really been two and a half years since we last visited Rusty and his lovable band of reprobates. But on June 2nd, it's finally coming back! The return of Arrested Development has stolen most of the comedy-geek limelight, but this news is exciting as all hell, too.
Has it been so long that you can't even remember what a Venture Brother is? Well, lucky for you, Adult Swim has put up an 8-minute series recap narrated by Henchman 21. It's great, this show's great, it's almost back, let's get pumped!

Venture Bros. is the perfect example of why it's good to get things in sparse doses. It lasts longer and the content has more care and consideration rather than being half-assed.
They have their missteps, since it's just two guys writing/directing the whole dang thing, but the ambition of this show that airs on Sunday nights at midnight on a cartoon channel is fucking insane.
I remember most of that recap but I had completely forgotten about the situation with Dermott's sister-mom
That episode is easily my favorite from the most recent season. It was the noir one, that was half black-and-white. Fun fact: that they didn't have the idea to do that (jump to b&w whenever Hank put on his noir hat) until they were cutting together the episode. Given that it elevates the whole thing from good to super-great, it's funny how late in the process it came.
Season four was really, really solid, all around. Return to Malice, Self-Medication, Assisted Suicide, the aforementioned Everybody Comes to Hanks/Bright Lights, Dean City duology. All amongst the best work the show's done.
the end of operation prom is one of the best television moments i've ever had the pleasure of watching so

I loved many, many things about Operation P.R.O.M., but I think what I loved MOST was how they use the geography of the road leading to the compound. The weird split in the road had been used for a dumb, drawn-out, hilarious gag involving Pete/Billy and their Conjecture-Cycle's ability to split and come back together, like, six episodes prior. It seemed like a tossed off bit funny mainly for their commitment to it - The Nozzle 2.0. But in that finale, they reveal it as friggin' plot-relevant. That's amazing.
