metro 2033 is basically a really excellent synthesis of stalker's immersiveness and environmental design combined with the best parts of half life 2's linearity and story telling. play it. PLAY IT
That makes it sound really good.
But my pc probably ain't beefy enough.
if you can play half life 2 or stalker you could quite likely play metro 2033
Those screenshots look pretty hefty is all.
Maybe I will try it.
well it looks nice if you have an amazing rig but I never had problems with it with my 4 or more year old computer

Yeah that sounds pretty amazing. Not going to spend the 10 bucks though. It'll just add up.

I managed to snag Fable 2 for free on my 360 when they accidentally had it up like that a while ago and I have not gotten around to playing it. The first fable disappointed me so much since I had followed it a bunch since it was Project Ego and I loved morrowind and was expecting something similar.
I was disappointed when it wasn't Morrowind but got over it quickly when it turned out to be a simplistic but rather decently polished action adventure rpg. A very enjoyable 20 or 30 hours of total content, in my opinion. Wish they'd put 2 on the PC.

That sure learned me.
And me! I'm sure we aren't the only ones.

Are the earlier (and therefore cheaper, now) games representative of the newer games in the X series?
I mean, I'm looking at X: Beyond the Frontier for £3.49 and wondering if I want to buy it and treat it like a demo for the other games to help me decide if I should buy them, is this a workable plan?
will it reflect the growing market in space meth over space weed though
the earlier X games are from like, the late 90s-early 2000s I think. X2 would be more of a representation, but I haven't played it. Oh and don't get both X3:R and X3:TC, you just need TC.

so I did finally play Portal 2
that little turret opera at the end was actually really moving, especially after I found out what the words mean. seem like either GLaDOS didn't really delete Caroline, or some parts of her were incorporated into GLaDOS' main personality. Which is cute and touching, but still leaves room for SCIENCE etc.
It's more of a sandbox space game. Closer to a mini EVE than GTA, but you don't really need spreadsheets to play. There is a steep learning curve but once you learn how to play it is amazingly addicting.

Now that i've finished portal 2 I think the next game I work on will be Bioshock. Still never bothered to beat that one.

However, the ring will never leave your finger, and you will be unable to ever describe to another living person what you see.

I never got anywhere near finishing Bioshock 2.
Probably should not have even gotten it. I was just so un-excited about the whole thing, then played it for about an hour and never touched it again.

It really, really, shapes up towards the end. Its kinda like Bioshock 1 but in reverse. Where as the first one started to fray at the edges towards the end, the second one becomes pretty tight and much more like Bioshock 1.
Sure some parts of it seem cheesy and don't quite have the same touch as before, but I by the time I was done with it, I felt like yeah, it does have a reason to exist and that I genuinely enjoyed some of the scenes and many of the more epic battles.
Playing it on hard also helps.

yeah. I didn't get bioshock 2. It was panned before it came out and that never really changed.
After bioshock it's gonna be dawn of discovery though.

so Brink is 25% off on Direct 2 Drive but you're buying a steam product code. also any other steam game on D2D I guess since its an easter special I just don't know which ones are steam only products
Aside from their continuing month long "Daily Deals", Direct2Drive is also having 2 deals for Easter. Both are tied to the promotion code "bunny" when checking out.
The first deal is a general one for the whole site. Using the "bunny" code will take off 25% from any order totaling $19.99 and up.
The second is specific to Crysis 2. Since they're already knocking of 5% from the $60 price tag, adding the "bunny" code knocks off another 25%, lowering the total to $41.95 or $45.41 after tax (at least for me). The banner says this sale ends Monday.
