If you are like myself and still haven't purchased your airfare to Seattle, today would be a good day. Southwest (and Airtran, since SW just purchased airtran) are having a web-only sale - one way tickets are between $40-$120 depending on the distance. For me this was a great deal, as I saved over $100 over what the fare was just yesterday. (flying in from baltimore). Just wanted to pass this on:

Westward Aviation Networking Group

What it is: An attempt to group people together and the smallest amount of varying flights as possible, let it be connecting flight grouping or joining up the whole way down, you'll not have the feeling of sitting next to that sick and/or awkward person.

How: By putting up a list of flights that are recommended to go [and where to sit] and you book on them, though they are not always the cheapest; the market is just jumpy like that. Make sure to book in the desired seat area, if the airline allows selected seat booking; which most of them do.

Participation: Simple just reply with the following form:

Plane: Each of the flights will have their unique names, with the suffix PRE meaning a Wednesday flight.
Your Handle: Plus any additional +1's, 2's, etc.
Origin Town/Airport: Where you're coming/flying from.
Connection Arrival Time: If you're flying in on a unique flight and meeting up with a WANG flight, put when you arrive at the airport HERE.
Seat(s): You, and your possible traveling companions', seats.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Why are their no return flights from Seattle listed? Welp, if you depart anywhere from 0-2 days after PAX, you're going to hit A LOT of attendees in all major airports (assuming you don't leave too early). So hooking up on return flights shouldn't be as much as a problem as hooking up on inbound flights.

My airport isn't listed :( Speak up! Reply in this post that you're not getting any love, but if your airport is not a major hub (like Rochester International) it probably won't have a lot of connections and therefore won't have a lot of people going in and out of it as compared to a place like Atlanta International. Also, you'll probably be connecting through a WANG airport hub, soo check for WANG flight numbers when you're searching 2+ stop flights from your smaller aiport.

That WANG flight is more expensive than X flight that is similar! Hey man, the airline market is very jumpy (and the flights were cheapest at the time) and prices vary on date, plane booking status, and popularity of the flight... and I'm pretty sure many more complex algorithms go into the science of pricing these things! If we constantly change the flights, no one will be together, and hey... maybe prices will drop in like a week or more!

Why aren't California airports and flights listed? You got PAX train! Looking at those videos and the awesome comments regarding the pre-PAX train ride up through CA, you'd probably want to pick them over this. If you somehow HAVE to fly, just book... not a lot of forumers should miss this experience if they were given the opportunity to board PAX Train.

While the last edit could have been a simple grammar fix at a later date than the last update.

These flights will depart [ 1 DAY ] prior to the event and will generally arrive in the morning or early afternoon, board these planes for minimum hotel expenditures; make sure to also check the room share thread (when it comes up) to save EVEN MORE on your trip! Enforcers generally fly earlier during this day to make Pre-PAX things and Pre-PAX community event organizers/goers should also shoot earlier, depending on which events they want to attend.

Assuming I have enough money to make it, I'll be flying from Glasgow (don't imagine there'll be too many joining me there) and connecting in Philadelphia. US Airways seems to be the cheapest airline for the route.

My trip hinges on some friends wanting to go, and we would probably be flying out of St. Louis. If I went the way I traveled last time, it looks like it would cost me disproportionately more than would be reasonable.

I've actually already booked my flight on Southwest out of PHL. The wanna get away fare was way lower than anything else I could find for that same time period.

Creamsteak, I think I might have a layover in St. Louis ^_^

Flying out of PIT most likely, though CLE or CAK if it's cheaper enough to drive 2 hours to catch a flight (it sometimes is...) and/or to hook up with PAXers for the flight

My boyfriend, I, and our friend will be flying out the Thursday before from Denver International Airport.
We may have another group of my friends in tow. None of us have bought plane tickets yet though so no times.

Hope to see some other PAXers there!

If you get your flight before I do, let me know so I can try and get on the same flight. Would be cool to fly with someone going to the same area. I will be the only one from CS going, so yeah.... I'm meeting people in Seattle though.

Assuming I have enough money to make it, I'll be flying from Glasgow (don't imagine there'll be too many joining me there) and connecting in Philadelphia. US Airways seems to be the cheapest airline for the route.

I am actually flying out of Philadelphia, which day and flight are you looking at?

Planning on flying out Wednesday from either Cleveland or Columbus with one stop somewhere in the middle (currently St. Louis, but Chicago Midway and Phoenix were other options), so if anyone else is going with Southwest that day let's see if we can organize.

I plan on doing the same thing. Buying tickets when I get my pass.

Yes this is my first PAX. I have always been a big gamer, and never really knew about conventions. I am originally from Indianapolis, and I never even knew that there was a gaming convention in Indianapolis.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the one airline that has a non-stop from CLE (Continental) is charging $474 a pop. I'll look more into this in the chance I am wrong.

EDIT: If you fly in on Thursday, you can take United Airlines (which has Continental flights listed as well) and connect at IAH to get on the LOLCAT plane. You would pay $165 right now, it is a lot of travel time though. I'll continue looking up additional options...

Hooray! This is back! Hells, I'm back!

Granted I am more Northbound...coming from California...but we're all going to the same place in the end, right? RIGHT!?

    So!

At the very least it will be me. It's all up to whether or not The Boyfriend has (a) a job and (b) if he can get time off. If there is no (a) then he will be joining. And if the employers are nice and give him (b) then he will go.

    Anywho! Precise Dates!

    Thursday, August 25th - Monday, August 29th.

Times and flights are still up in the air (no pun intended) since I am still trying to see the pricing and if my mate is going or not.

Do you haz available flights from Vancouver? I still haven't setup the Canada area yet. Do you fly Air Canada or do you follow your carrier from UK or something?
