Remember that Law and Order episode where this guy had a sex change to look like a smoking hot chick and she killed a guy out of self defense and then got sent to the men's prison and got raped like 20 times and got the shit kicked out of her.
watched the killing 2 hour premiere tonight. holy shit this show is spectacular. the main lady is pretty rocking, kinda reminds me of an older jennifer lawrence from winter's bone, all kind of hangdog yet determined as hell. i love silly procedurals, but it always kinda bothered me how most shows can wrap up a big case in one episode and cmon now, not realistic at all, and spending 13 episodes to really get you invested in this one case is super cool beans. also the cop dude reminds me of britt from terriers, with a funnier accent but same kind of goofy charm.

That. was. depressing.
There is a lesson to be learned somewhere in here and it is, "Do not go against Jack McCoy."

I won't lie, I think half of my love for Sherlock is based around all the Stephen Moffat-y goodness, and the other half of it simply comes from the fact that the actor playing Sherlock is named Benedict Cumberbatch.
Plus, y'know, the fact I love nearly anything that's Sherlock Holmes related.

(I haven't seen season 5 yet so it could be 5 I don't know)
Five has two seasons' worth of perfection. So does four, actually.

Neither the whole of truth nor the whole of good is revealed to any single observer, although each observer gains a partial superiority of insight from the peculiar position in which he stands. It is enough to ask of each of us that he should be faithful to his own opportunities and make the most of his own blessings, without presuming to regulate the rest of the vast field.

I've just started watching The Wire. I finished Season 2 a couple of days ago. At first i really was not interested in the dockworker's union thing but Frank and Nick really grew on me. Also

The wrapping up of the series in season 5 was good, but I thought the actual plot arcs in it were pretty bad.
Still a fantastic show though.
I'm of the opinion that outside of the finale Season 5 is probably the weakest. Some good and baaad things happened in it, but I didn't care for some of the plot lines.
I don't know if I really have a favorite season. Probably Season 4 because it's the saddest.
This is late, oh well. From what I could tell the season five dvd release date is 5/31.
It sucked. I watched seasons 1-4 of Psych on the instant queue - which had a little thing at the bottom that said 79 episodes. Some quick internet research revealed that there have been 79 episodes total, so when I started I thought I'd be able to completely catch up, but no. You get down to season five in the Psych folder and it says DVD only. But that's a lie too, because those aren't even out yet.

Asides from Columbo, none are really coming to mind. Could you please list a few? I need to update my list of stuff to watch.
Terriers
Psych
ah. the "pretending to be psychic" thing grates on me, even though I've heard great things from many people about the show, so that's off my list already.
For claasic Private.Detective shows you can always watch Magnum PI, Remington Steele, and Hart to Hart
oh right. yes, yes these are things I've seen dribs and drabs of but never fully. I need to remedy that.

oh hey, I just remembered an old favourite, the canadian made Forever Knight, which is basically "Vampire becomes guilty over all the killing he's done, and tries to make good by becoming a detective in Toronto."

Yes Sherlock was really really good. I can not wait for the new episodes.
Also Terriers was great.
man i have to catch up on psych, just caught up on castle (except for tonight's episode)
Plus, y'know, the fact I love nearly anything that's Sherlock Holmes related.
Lord Fenton Hardwick the third popped his monocle when he heard it.
Man knew he'd been licked.
Why I fear the ocean.
YESYESYESYESYES
Also yes the recent BBC Sherlock is phenomenal, I've really got to see if I can find that on DVD somewhere
That was an SVU ep. Jack McCoy didn't do it.
You're right though, don't go against him.
He will break you.
Also there are very few videos of Jack McCoy on youtube.
But here is a good one.
I just found there are Law and Order pc games
I should check those out

I'm never in too big a rush to see others shows because I already know it's impossible for anything to ever be better than The Wire.

Someday we might see something that can compare. I'm not holding my breath, though.
Someone show me a crime.
I will solve it.

I shall look into this Terriers thing though.
I really want to like Treme as much but who knows.

It's pretty great.
But I have loved everything AMC has done lately, with the exception of Rubicon and that was only because it was just too damn slow.
e: Just saw lostwords comments on the last page. That helps.
ee: Holy shit, I loved Forever Knight CB6.
