Hey, so, I've recently started getting massive slowdowns with my PC (Windows 7 64X). Did a little beginner's digging, and using the Event Log I found out I've been having a performance 500 error whenever I play, well, anything, even light stuff like TF2 which used to run smooth as hell. Now, I've got 4GB of RAM, and I have an Intel Quad Core, so I don't think the problem's coming from there. All signs point me to my ageing graphics card, an nVidia 8800 GTS.
Right, so: could the card be failing? Is there anything I can do to make sure that the problem is really coming from it? And what good value cards can I replace it with (100-200 dollar range)?
