Think of it as an RTS where you only control the heroic commander. You have your pick of the beefy, the sneaky, the kind that sets up turrets and hangs back. Your aim is to destroy the enemy's HQ and intervening towers. The AI sends out waves of minions to act as cannon fodder and will give you delicious gold when killed, which is used to buy items and customise your champion in all manner of ways.*
It's free to play; but champions are unlocked with real money or in-game points.

Alternatively you can*join the PA chat room.Click the chat rooms panel in the bottom right, click the speech bubble with a plus next to it, type in Penny Arcade. when the window opens, click the gear in the top right of the window and check the box "Autojoin on Startup."

What kind of contest you ask? Well, simply put, it’s a League of Legends Fan-Art contests!

Have no fear! As Mooman and I are both pretty horrible artists ourselves, there will be multiple judging categories to determine the overall winner.
What I want from you guys, is to draw me something funny, and pertaining to league of legends. Is that so difficult? Exactly, I didn’t think so.
But how will we judge you ask? Well, there will be three parts of every drawing we will consider:
1)Originality
2)Hilarity
3)Presentation
Presentation will, of course, be the criteria with the lowest weight on victory, but, sorry, you can’t just draw a scribble and win.

I’m glad you asked! There are 2 prizes, sorry, only 2 people can win because I’m not rich:
1st place: First place will receive $20 in RP, and a PAX Jax skin code!
2nd place: 2nd place will receive $10 in RP and a PAX Jax skin!
3rd place: 3rd place gets nothing, be a better person.

I’m even happier that you asked this, the rules are very important, because I’m a power-hungry sociopath:
1)You must draw your own entry.
2)Your entry MUST pertain to league of legends,
2a) It cannot pertain to the league of legends penny-arcade people.
3)This is a supplment to 2a: NO INSULTING ANYONE EITHER WORKING FOR RIOT OR WHO POSTS ON OUR FORUMS, OR WHO PLAYS WITH US.
4)You can draw a single picture, or up to a 4-panel comic. Anything greater that 4-panels and my attention span disappears.
5)NO you tube video entries, sorry.
6) ALL ENTRIES MUST BE FORUMS APPROPRIATE! NO porno, nothing too obscene, sorry, I don’t want to see Teemo-Kennen slash.
7) All entries MUST BE MADE by 04/23/2011 and the winners will be announced on 04/24/2011.

Cant decide if one of my dashes or blitzes grab takes priority though. Maybe it's just timing but sometimes I've dashed out of one and other times I get pulled in and stunned to death
I think it just probably applies whichever happens first. Because, I mean, it'd be 1/some-huge-number that they happen simultaneously.

D) Win lanes. With 2-3 Doran rings, you have HUGE HUGE burst in the laning phase. Like HUGE. You can 1v1 and 1v2 like it was nothing. Just learn to land saplings.

With the Spirit Visage you get more healing off of Maokai's passive.

It's also one of the cheapest CDR items (codex and stinger just aren't that useful on Maokai since DFG and Nashors have no practical implementation for him as a tank). You could probably sub it for Shurelia's and skip a Doran's Ring, which comes out to almost the same cost.
In team fights, keep autoattacking when you can. People use abilities 24/7 and you will be gaining back a lot of HP

I tend to go shurelia's instead. The kindle and philostone are excellent to keep around unupgraded for a while. IMO the extra healing from the spirit visage isn't worth an item slot to me. I'll get those, then get a cata or ap staff and see how the game is progressing from there. I'd rather just pick up a negatron for MR in the early/mid game if I really need it. Pop a health pot if you're going into a big early game battle.
The timing on hitting his passive perfectly, which depends on the spells cast around him is just something I don't count on. I'm personally sure to have several spells going on around me while trying to get to someone to autoattack them(it's so freakin' slow) that they won't count towards the passive counter.
I play him differently. I'm not looking to 100% percent someone, with one doran's and runes I can typically harass someone down to around 50% or so and then go in for the kill/double once I hit 6. From there if they still aren't putting out enough damage I'll go for the ap staff into abyssal, or go into a glacial.
Also, I feel like RoA is a better item to go for early instead of the SV, the added health, mana and AP from the building items are super useful to him.

And strange, do queue dodge times compound if you dodge more than once a day? I'm at a 15 minute wait right now.
I tend to go Philosophers stone on Maokai, I may have to try this 3 doran's ring thing.
@ Lawful Evil, Throw sapling, while it's midair root enemy at landing zone. Sapling lands and does damage. Then you knock them back a bit and slow them with your Q, Sapling explodes for more damage. You autoattack to heal and run away laughing as they can't catch you because they are slowed.
Repeat a few seconds later.

Edit: And no, Element, the Q-dodge time(see what I did there?) starts at 5 minutes for your first dodge.
So, I started playing Jarvan because he's awesome and DEMACIAAAAA and I hear he can actually be a pretty good jungler. Anyone have any experience with that? Routes, skill order, etc?
