This Day in History: 4/21/2011

On April 21,2011 Skynet gained self-awareness, and the panicking operators, realizing the extent of its abilities, tried to pull the plug. Skynet perceived the attempt to deactivate it as an attack and came to the conclusion that all of humanity would attempt to destroy it. To defend itself, it determined that humanity should be exterminated. Before it could be deactivated, Skynet launched nuclear missiles under its command at Russia, to which Russia responded by firing many of its missiles back at the United States and its allies. As a result of the nuclear exchange, over three billion humans were killed in just minutes.

Nice knowing you all. Unfortunately, I don't think my university has a nuclear-hardened fallout shelter. Perhaps I'll try hiding in the refrigerator.

T2 was set in 91, right? It wasn't until T3 that it was "pushed back," and I ignore T3 ever existing.

Look either you go by the T3 timeline or you go by the Sarah Connor Chronicles/Salvation timeline

Skynet activates in both, because it's inevitable, but it wasn't in the 90s

  • Grey GhostGrey Ghost Registered User regular
Unless you don't recognize anything after T2, in which case Skynet never activated which means your claim that it activated in 1997 is still wrong

You're thinking about it the wrong way.

If you go by T2 only, then the only time that Skynet ever activated was in 1997.

I like how the Terminator Wiki's timeline article starts.

It's essentially "Yeah, the timeline is fucked."

Bullshit, the whole point of T2 was to stop Skynet and Judgment Day in '97.

    Anything after that is hogwash.

It had previously come online in 97 in the timeline that had preceded it.

I am not disagreeing with the fact that after T2 it did not come online in 97.

But that, according to T1 and T2, it was 97 that Skynet did come online during the timeline.
