one would think no ranged attacks would improve the AI, to be honest
though I see how flying mobs could cause issues
Apparently a lot of the things have no attacks. The basic wolves get three on 3/6/9 cooldowns, while the Alpha Wolf gets TWO attacks. Apparently the Lions are no better. I'll probably be getting back into the game for a little bit soon, maybe next weekend.
How important is Overload, on a /EA Stalker? I'm thinking it might be skippable ...
If you run Dark Astoria content later, its very useful. Extra def + res vs def debuffs & extra hps. Many mobs have def debuffs in DA if the connect and you run +4x8, have fun. :P
Oooooooh, that defense debuff resist would be handy. FUCK everything of sorrow. Fuck it hard. Fuck it forever.

Huh, looks like they haven't fixed the bug/feature where damage enhancements also boost damage resistance effects in the same power. Now I know why my demons/dark MM is still an OP beast.

That's not an easy fix - it's baked into the engine. There's a reason you can't slot End Reduction into most End Modification powers any more. Heh.

Except you totally can, always could, and the EnduranceDiscount attribute has never been the same as the Endurance attribute in powers anyway. The reason Enzymes worked is that Defense and Defense Debuff powers are both just modifying the target's defense variables, either positively or negatively. The reason Centrioles and other damage/resdamage enhancements work like that is different, and is because there isn't a Damage attribute to specifically enhance. They just add to Str(Smashing) and Str(Lethal) and etc, which hits both the Res(Smashing) lines and the Abs(Smashing) lines.
ALTHOUGH IT DOESNT FUCKING MATTER WHATSOEVER!
Okay, so right off the bat, no one else dies. Everyone you encounter in this part survives to the end. Yes even Darrin Wade.
Essentially this thing breaks the golden rule of script writing in that it is constantly Telling and not Showing that Wade is growing more and more powerful. 9 out of 10 times, its not even in the fucking mission, its the contact box *after* the mission is over.
It starts out with the same level of Hope For A Good Story that you get with WWD6. Darrin teleported to a random island in the pacific, and pulls a TMNT3 by starting to pilot the island into the upper atmosphere (for reasons not explained other than wanting to show off their new Space Skybox). When you hop on one of the boats of the fleet about to head out and splode him to smithereens you get the awesome ability to talk to your teammates. Why is this awesome? Cause your team consists of Recluse, Mako, Penelope Yin, and finally...Numina and Ms. Liberty. Needless to say, Liberty doesnt really talk to you.
So you get to the island, only to find out that Wade is now Super Mage, and has evaporated the crew members of the entire fleet and just dragged all of the boats up into the sky to form a...Boat...Bridge. There's no reason for this, other than the fact they wanted to do something cool. I can't really argue with that, but ya know.
So anyway, I'll give the Warburg sub-plot about as much time as it's given in the mission...
So you fly a rocket onto the moon.
Wade is now in Rularuu form, where I SWEAR TO GOD THEY CALL HIM THIS, Rula-Wade...Wade mocks you and says He Will Triumph blahblah. At this point, you have a kind of silly fight because Wade gets more powerful if he hangs around Rularuu mobs, so he Runs The Fuck Away towards the mobs that constantly respawn. Not to mention the fact that it just looks silly to constantly be firing up at the dudes head.
You beat him, he blows up, and gets shunted back into his body in a nearly-catatonic state with no more super-powers. Then, they have this STUPID FUCKING BIT, where they do a Where Are They Now?/End Of Animal House bit where all of the npcs show up on a black background standing there in idle animations while a text box mentions the new role they've got that won't fucking matter anyway.
Then, with one last gasping breath, they do the last possible thing they could do cool, and have you conduct a Press Conference. I admit, I dug the shit out of this at first
That's just fucking rad. Except the way its set up is a joke. At no point do you get to say "I have saved the world, Statesman is dead, and Recluse died to a natterling, All Hail ME MUAHAHAHA!" The only evil choice is "Attack The Press Conference", if you bother to go through the questions, you're just viewed as a Good Guy. Despite the fact I outright said "I SHOT MISS LIBERTY", the world views me as a savior, as Manticore says. Who, once again, you have to fight in a battle of No Consequence.
See, the problems I had with this that I stated at the release of every other issue, still fucking stands. NOTHING HAPPENS. The Status Quo is only turned on its head INSIDE THE STRIKE FORCE. Statesman is still hanging out in IP, Fort Trident and the seventeen other places they put his character model. Recluse is still viewed as a Viable Threat (HE DOES SHIT EVEN IF YOU BRING HIM WITH YOU TO FIGHT WADE). They didn't even do stupid shit like change the gravity for the SPAAAAAACE mission.
Oh, and like I said In-Game, you don't even get a fucking badge at the end. But apparently, the Incarnate Rewards make up for that. Which is fine, if this game was WoW. Since when should the reward for this shit, be solely for End-Game characters?

My take on it is that world map updates aren't even usually done in MMOs. I'm happy that the Devs say they'll fix things soon-ish. That's more than most MMOs get, although the point that they should have waited to release the content until the world map changes were ready is a fair point.
Of course, then we'd still be waiting for the WWD arcs.

It probably won't take too long, since it's likely they'll just be doing the same world-altering stuff that they do in the GR Praetoria and First Ward arcs.
Has anyone mentioned that enhancement converters are the best thing ever? Being able to turn two purple sleep IOs into Ragnaroks is exactly what I've been wanting.
1.) Make IO
2.) Bring up Enhancement Tab (not the window, just the tab)
3.) Click Convert
4.) Profit
Consarn it Duck, Convert to what? Will it convert in one step? Do I need an IO to do this? Is it a basic IO or one from a set? does it matter what type of IO I start with?
GAMING THE MARKET CANT BE BROKEN INTO JUST FOUR STEPS SIR rargharble

The converters will take an existing set IO and do one of three things to it (depending on your choice):
1. It will swap your IO for a different one that's in the same category (melee damage, defense debuff, etc.) Note that PvP/ATO/Purple enhancements cannot be converted this way.
2. It will swap your IO for a different one that's part of the same set (this is super useful for turning low-value LotGs into +recharge LotGs).
3. It will swap your IO for a different one that's of the same rarity.
So yes, you need an IO. It has to be a set IO. You drag the IO from your tray into the slot, select the type of conversion you want, push butan, receive bacon/enhancement.
So it would seem that the best way would be to buy the cheapest LOTG part on the market, and then use converters to Transform it into the +recharge lotg?
What was the method people were talking about with PvP sets then? Same system, different set?

Do you need me to come over and wipe for you? Try it out, holy crap.
Yeah SSA7 is shit. A huge steamy pile. Largely because after FINALLY fucking coming around and handing out some awesome, legitimately villainous missions, the SSA7 is exactly the same, aside from a few random dialogue bits, if you're a hero or a villain. Fuck these arcs.
Also, seriously, find something to do with Recluse. He is the most boring villain ever.

Yes, though the converted result is random. It seems to be "truly" random, not weighted, so you've always got a decent chance of getting what you want.
It's a shame SSA7 was such a dud for villains, since they had by far the better arcs up until now. But WeX, as for the status quo remaining outside the strike/task force, they've been upfront about that. Statesman isn't going to be removed til Issue 23.
I know, I know. Everyone keeps telling me that as if it somehow excuses the fact HE'S DEAD NOW
Excising Statesman from all the existing non-time-travel content is a massive endeavor. He's the central figure of the game. What, they should push SSA 5 back a few months while they do that? And then push SSA 6 back a few more, for Psyche? And just turn off the StatesTF and such until they have a replacement figure, which Positron was talking about possibly being a big player contest?
So I just resubbed after almost 2 years, lvling a db/wp from 26ish where i left my gimmicky villain, is the chat channel still active? and if so can someone unmoot @DeadDDave whenever?

Some stuff about Issue 23 have been cropping up due to people datamining the beta patch. Here's some stuff I found on SA's CoH thread about it. Obvious spoilers alert so don't look if you don't want stuff ruined even though it's still subject to change.
- Summer event involves movie theaters. There are files for a casino heist and a coliseum event. I'm guessing your hero/villain stars in them.
- Sister Psyche is replaced by Penelope Yin for TF purposes, and she has a new TF.
- The new SSA is Pandora's Box. One of the later issues has Brass Tuesday (Brass Monday is when the Phalanx fought Nemesis after he did an enormous invasion in Steel Canyon in the 20s).
- Night Ward is the new zone, involves the Midnighters in Praetoria (or the Praetorian Midnighters, can't tell). NPCs you killed before in the Praetorian starting experience like Cleopatra, Interrogator Washington, etc., will show up as ghosts here.
- Power pools, epic pools, and patron pools are all customizable. The travel pools look like they got updated to have one more attack. Aerial assault, teleport attack, jump attack, and speed tornado, from the looks of it.
- Appears to be a new power pool called Sorcery.
- 4 new sets with Water Blast (blasters, corrs, defenders), Nature Affinity (controllers, defenders, masterminds, corruptors), Bio Organic Armor (scraps, tanks, broots, stalkers), and Psionic Melee (scraps, tanks, broots, that crazy girl from down the street).
- There are files for a liger non-combat pet. No idea if that's actually going in.
- No new proliferations from what I can see.
- Khelds and Arachnos still don't appear to have customizable powers.
- New Incarnate Trial is against Chimera/Praetor Sinclair and takes place in Imperial City.
- There's going to a personal story mission with Emperor Cole.
- Something's happening the Magisterium in Nova Praetoria. There's a before and after shot of it being nuked. Not sure if it's the same scenario, but there's powers in place for a Magisterium scene with Chimera, Tyrant, Shadowhunter, Black Swan, and the Dream Doctor.
- There are multiple Postrions listed in the files with task force variants. Supposedly he'll be handing out the STF now.
- There are new Archetype sets (enhancements) on the way. None for Primalists yet.
As for that 'Primalist' mentioned, it seems like it's a new AT they may be bringing in. Looks to be possibly letting players finally roll in as something akin to Warwolves or the like.
The Primalist powers are categorized as Gifts/Misc. A Tanker's are Defense/Offense, for comparison. So far they have "Primal Gifts" as a primary set, and a few listed miscellaneous secondary sets:

It has no ranged attacks and poor AI. But still. Wolves.

I guess I don't really need a single-slotted Web Grenade just to ground dudes. I dunno. It's a 49 choice either way.

For those of us who can't access the SSA due to money issues, how does it end?
