I would totally be in the Weird Al vid, except for the whole not-owning-pro-camera-gear thing

Hardware Store was proably my favorite tune off of Poodle Hat.

Also this video is pretty rad. Took loads of effort.

I've been disappointed by most of the animation videos they've been making recently. Most of them just can't compare to the ones that Al directs himself. It's really obvious when they just show on screen whatever the song is describing at that moment, without adding any new humor or anything.

yes his best videos are definitely the ones that parody the video of the song he's parodying, like Fat and Amish Paradise. Dare to be Stupid is another good one, even though it's not a parody of a specific song. It's more of a parody of Devo's style and the video captures that perfectly too.

Fat and Smells Like Nirvana are excellent. White and Nerdy scores higher than it would have simply because of Donny Osmond flailing around like a lunatic.

I grew up in an area with lots of Mennonites and they booed the DJ at a school dance when he played Amish Paradise. I think some people wrote letters to the school about it, too. None of the people who got upset were actually Amish or even hardcore Mennonites (they all drove cars, had electricity in their houses, etc.).

Been an Al fan since I listened to some of his cassettes on a long bus trip to D.C., something like twenty years ago. This thread caused me to go back and listen to Mr. Popeil, always one of my favorites.

Edit: Oh God, "You Make Me." Listening to it now I can remember exactly how it felt trying to contain my laughter and not annoy everyone else, but not wanting to stop either. It was this one that sold me on him.

Hmmm, at four bucks, I may reconsidering buying digital instead of physical.

I don't care so much about buying physical any more, but I have all the other albums and collections on CD, I kinda want to have them all that way, y'know?

I am very excited for this.

It was one of the few things my brother and I bonded over as kids. We would sit in the backseat and sing the parody lyrics whenever the original song he had used would come on the radio.

I remember singing "I Think I'm a Clone Now" a lot and driving my mother nuts.

I sang Ode to a Superhero instead of the regular lyrics at karaoke a few months ago and it was a big hit.

There are only a few songs you can actually do this with, however. Many of Al's versions have a different number of verses and/or choruses.
