Goddamnit. Hungary took Passau a week before my troops arrived in neighboring Moravia and immediately started sieging it with 600 men. It wasn't going very quickly with Passau's regiment, but my 9600 troops arrived and it fell in a matter of days. But Passau still got control, even though I did nearly all the work. I'm reloading, because last time Passau wasn't involved.

But early days yet - still working on flavour text and art design, lots of tweaking to do (not so much for balance, most of which is down to maths, but to make it more fun). And then playtesting of course.
I'm just proud that I've finished (the first draft) of a creative project, whether it turns out to be a gem or a turd. You can't imagine how much stuff I've started and abandoned since I left university. But when it comes to designing games, for some reason things just flow nearly effortlessly.
