Electric Trimmer Care

I bought an electric trimmer to help keep my tiny back yard in shape. I don't have a shed I can keep it in so I store it in the house after I'm done. But the grass that gets caked on can get really nasty and I don't want it to fall all over the house when I store it, so I just hose down the parts where the grass gets caked on, it's really close to the trimmer head.

I've never really thought about this untill today, but is this OK? Not because of the electric engine, but am I washing out lubricants or grease from the trimmer head's spinning mechanism?

Orientation and direction is appreciated.

I always used to just pry off big chunks with a long screwdriver. But I am sure using water is okay and will keep it clean.

It is made to work outside and grass has grass juice in it, so it is made to get wet. Probably fine.

edit: I totally thought you were talking about a body trimmer at first and was confused. Gotta keep that small backyard trim.

You haven't given me a reason to steer clear of you!

Assuming this is what you're talking about, maybe searching using one of these less ambiguous names here might prove more fruitful:

(I too was confused and then amused, I've always heard them called strimmers)
