I was better off not knowing that those types of fanfics existed.
Going to mind bleach by watching that Rusty Bucket Bay video 1000 more times. Banjo-Kazooie will always have a special place in my right next to Chrono Trigger and ponies.
I hate to bring real world into the pony thread but Somethings been bothering me ever since i started watching the show.
Is Rainbow dash suppose to be the (subtle) token lesbian? I'm not offended or trying to offend, but every time i see her I have to remind myself that its suppose to be a girl. Its mostly that her Voice is like nothing a girls would sound like, it sounds more like a boys whos voice is changing and keeps hitting squeeky notes. Not to mention her tomboyishness hobbies and competitiveness.
I don't think being tomboyish is inherently gay, nor is being competitive.
Also, this is a children's show, so don't expect that question to be answered, ever.
I imagine even the artists/writers themselves would be hesitant to answer such a question publicly, considering the kind of backlash they could get for mentioning anything questionable about the sexuality of the cast.

Sexual orientation is not an issue as it is a kids' show.
Tomboyishness doesn't automatically mean lesbian, anyway.
EDIt: And this is where the conversation should end because you're approaching the line of creepiness.
I'm aware of that, It just seems like something you would see at least suggested in todays crazy politically correct world where people think physical gender has no meaning and the truely insane people who think we should start explaining what gay means to kindegardners.

You know what would be really cool? If the time Luna spent on the moon was spent on befriending alien life forms so she could conquer Equestria. Second season would be Fantasy and Sci-Fi mixed in one.
Quick thing going back to the Halloween Ponies. I just watched the Buffy episode where they go to a college costume party and Anya is dressed as a bunny since they are the scariest thing she can think of. So now when I see that picture I imagine Fluttershy with the same point of view and is more scared of herself than the others.
Much like her trying to get away from her shadow in Dragonshy.

"When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up." -C.S. Lewis
Lauren answered on DA about rainbow dash and I spent about half an hour trying to find said answer but couldn't. Oh well. Someone should make an archive of all of her (and other MLP workers) replies so it's easier to find.
That Fluttershy video is funny (she is my favorite pony). Strangely, despite all the other references being humorous, I laughed the most when it did her "yay" sound. Go figure.

I think some people want to see 'support' of their various causes in stuff like this and while I understand that, it's best to just enjoy the show for what it is and to not project things unto it.
That being said, some of the fanfics (that I've heard of, not read) are just downright disturbing

Rainbow Dash doesn't sound anything like a boy to me. Was she created to be "the token lesbian"? No, her rainbow coloring is a coincidence. She started out as Firefly (pink and blue), but Hasbro wanted Faust to work Rainbow Dash--a character who'd been around for about 10 years--into the show (and Pinkie Pie.)
Although rainbows are a symbol of the LGBT movement, in this context the intended message is as simple as "Rainbows! They are so pretty!!" If people want to interpret Rainbow Dash as a lesbian, that's fine by me, but the fact that she's a tomboy with rainbow hair is a coincidence, not a stereotype.
I drew a picture related to this argument when that one blogger wrote that "WARGLE BARGLE, MLP FIM is sexist, homophobic, and racist" blog.

a quick imdb search yields no results for ponies, talking ponies or members of the pony under class
I like how everypony have a confused look and thinking "What the hell is she doing?"
what if you had a gun put to your head and you were forced to answer
who is the best pony?
there's a dead one right? plural? dead fictional animals?
are those what carebears are
the souls of dead ponies
the icons leave their asses and land on their chests
the cleveland steamer of the soul?

This is not a conversation for this thread.
EDIT: Here is a thread to discuss whether or not you think it's appropriate to explain sexual orientation to kids.
I understand that you're curious, but this topic can only go to weird and creepy places, so it's best to just let it go.

Rarity had a celebrity crush on Prince Blueblood.
Yes, it is a double standard.
No, nothing good will come from continuing the issue further.
