After arguing about the value of different home crowds, my friends and I have made an effort to try and notice the crowds (as best we can through TV) more in the postseason. I haven't watched all the games but tonight's Memphis crowd seemed like the best by far...although they did look slightly suicidal at the beginning/middle of the 4th

I was at the game this evening. And you're right by the end of the 3rd / start of the 4th I started noticing a definite mood swap. For the rest of the evening though the place was electric. Can someone tell me what triggered the technicals all night long? It started getting crazy after the Clipper guy threw the ball away.

See you sunday
On the Ts: it was all just arguing calls, which admittedly is something the Clippers do all the time anyway, but it's nice to see them called for it for once
Also they should have been called for a delay of game for overstaying the time out after Griffin overextended his knee (when the whole team went over to him... technically another violation but not one I'm going to hold against anyone)
they weren't though
fuck gendered marketing

Clutch fadeaway amidst a throwback KG game and some fortuitous refereeing wins the Cs game 6, but unless Ray can shake his ankle injury and find his shot the 76ers are going to take us down. Pierce's knee issues won't help either

So, is Denver gonna beat the Lakers in Game 7? And what are the chances of Indiana and Philadephia in the second round? I'd love for a Pacers/76ers ECF and a Clippers/Denver WCF . But sadly, that won't happen.
A great deal may depend on 1.) Kobe Bryant's health over the next 48 hours and 2.) how the game is officiated, and if the Lakers are allowed to be physical at Staples and 3.) if the Nuggets can continue to push the ball and take advantage of transition opportunities, and run the legs off of Gasol and Bynum.
Man. When I had what Kobe has, I didn't leave my room for a week. It was like all the fluids in my body were trying to simultaneously escape by any means necessary. I couldn't even hold down plain toast for the first few days. I know illnesses affect some people more severely than others, but I just can't fathom scoring 31 points in an NBA game (not that I ever could, but you know what I mean) with that damn bug.
Obviously Bynum and Gasol are going to have to elevate their game on Saturday, but I don't even think that's going to matter unless someone out of MWP/Blake/Sessions/Barnes starts knocking down threes.

And Kobe too... he was basically fine when he had the ball in his hands, but he looked pretty beat on defense quite frequently.

I was always curious, do former Seattle fans move their loyalties over to OKC, or do they actually resent the new team? I can see it working both ways.

For me it's a little of both. I hate them, but I'm also excited to see KD do well, if that makes sense. I have no team right now. Still scouting around. I don't like the Heat enough to root for them (although I admire them) and the next best options seem like... Portland (totally weird b/c they were our rival, so no thanks), and like... the Clippers or Kings or something. I love me some Boogie Cousins and also JaVale McGee, so I may have to just root for players for a while.

I can't bring myself to root for them personally, and I'm not even from seattle. The way they left and the fact that they moved to a market that small is just too ridiculous.
it was the smallest on the list but
Pluto was a planet and I'll never forget
That was Hurricane Katrina's doing, though. It destroyed the fortunes of one franchise, the New Orleans Hornets, while surprising many with the way the people of OKC so enthusiastically supported that team when they temporarily played their home games there. It was probative of the idea that "Yes, it's a small market, but these people will support a team in OKC." And indeed they have.

I'm not sold on the idea that a small market full of rabid fanatics is somehow worse than a large market where half the people don't give a shit. Obviously there are some teams that get the best of both worlds (Lakers, Celtics), but then there are also towns with the worst of both *cough* Charlotte *cough*
And I know that that wasn't the case at all in Seattle, which is a basketball town and really should have a team, but it still seems to come up every time it's discussed.

Resent. Lot's of resentment.

Pure and utter hate. The only time I can bring myself to wish any OKC player to do well is when they're wearing a USA uniform. I will root harder against them than anyone will root against the Heat.

It's not what happened as much as HOW it happened. The Kings seem to be experiencing similar bs. Stupid Stern.

See you Sunday!
And once again Vinny Del Negro spends all his time outs early and has nothing to use at the end of the game.
Clips lose game 6, as if anyone saw this playing out any other way. I think the Lakers manage to stay alive tomorrow, and I think the Clips choke it away on Sunday, thereby confirming why the Lakers are the Lakers and the Clippers are the Clippers.

Definitely. I've noticed far more variation from game to game (for each franchise, not just OKC) than I thought there would be though.

This is the most injury-plagued NBA playoffs ever.

I am Michael Vick
Also gawd damn Rudy Gay. Lookin' mean.
I prefer the developing rivalry with OKC, but a bitter blood-and-thunder feud would be cool too
