Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I have two gerbils and I suspect they have mites. Though I'm not totally sure and I don't want to go and spray them with chemicals just in case.
I looked around online and saw many people say that a visit to a vet for a small animal mites should be relatively cheap, around $10-20. However when I got in contact with a vet clinic in my area they told me the fee would be $80.
So now I'm really not sure what a reasonable price for this visit would be. Can you guys give me a rough estimate?
I'm in NYC, midtown Manhattan, but I'm open to traveling to Brooklyn if it'll cut down the price for me considerably.
I figured that much but $80 still seems a bit steep to me.
I guess somewhere between the two at about $50 is what I'm looking for. But is that a reasonable price or am I just not going to find that around here?
Call around to other vets and see what they quote you. Maybe you'll find someone with more reasonable rates. Unfortunately, I've got a feeling that a lot of vets just don't bother with small animals like that and the ones that do get to charge whatever they want because of it.
