Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
That's awesome, you've made some great textures. The mills bomb and a bunch of german weapons are definitely some of my favourite stuff from that game.
Oh god, I want those miniatures on my desk so bad. I would like to request you post more as well. I would give you like, a dollar, to post more. (I'm horribly poor, you see.) I think you could make, and have them look awesome, your own cast mini figurines of your own characters if you wanted to as well. They would look good.
Don't settle for a million good ideas.
Progress, not perfection.
Wait... the price of the PAINTS is what stopped you? Not the whole 50 dollars for 10 tiny plastic army men thing?
I'm a fan of the Vostroyan-esque scheme.
I went through a few schemes before i settled on the "yeah we suck, but at least we look fancy while dieing!" theme. First it was a contempory army camo paintjob, but that was proving way too timely and finicky to paint all the little camo splotches. Then I went the oposite route and tried a super speedy 3 tone drybush so that everything looked like it was viewed through night vision goggled (ie, everything was green and yellow). But that looked pretty dumb and didnt make much sense. (why is one army in night vision, but the battlefield and opposing army aint?)
I'm currently working on some freelance stuff for fantasy flight that I can't post, so instead I think I'll post some photos of my never seen sketchbook for a lark.
Yep the prices of the paints. Here they cost just about 6usd per tiny can. But hey, when I make some money sometime I'll be sure to spend them all on paints.
I think that 'short, bug eyed dudes' style was more inspired by Metal Slug and the Muppets than anything. I only got into 40k a few years ago (dispite long time loving the fluff)
On Tam's request, heres a 3 year old picture of a Mekboy.
So I'm selling stuff at this big convention in August, and as some wll have noticed, I havn't done too much non-work art in the past few years. SO. I need suggestions of things to make so I can sell them to nerds.
Yup, just a hard edged, high opacity brush. I like to over-ink, then cut back in with the eraser tool to clean it up. Still takes a while, and its a style I've moved away from.
Looks, an alien with a pulse rifle! How topical!
Prolly gunna ditch the text, I just added it in to be funny.

One day you must give us all rides in one of your many sports automobiles.
You can see the 40k influence on your art style, if I may say so

How do you go about inking something like that? Do you just use a brush with maximum opacity and size jitter?
