Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Help me hop about whilst on the plane (DS Platformers)
I'm off on holiday this Friday and shall be stuck on a plane for 4 hours. My wife has agreed to lend me her DS for the trip. I'm a big platformer fan but I've no idea what's available on the DS.
I've played through NSMB but that's about it.
Any suggestions?
::edit:: Just for clarification, I like platformers of the Mario/Sonic ilk, Metroidvania's and things like Flashback/Another World.

I'm just gonna throw Henry Hatsworth out there.
4 hrs isn't really that much time if you get something good.
edit: Henry Hatsworth is an action platformer and a color matching type puzzle game. The enemies you kill on the top screen turn into puzzle pieces. Deleting them from the puzzle game gives you powerups you use in the top screen, I think. It's been a while.

There's obviously the 3 Castlevania games, Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin, and Order of Ecclesia. Any of those should be more than enough for you, although 4 hours probably won't be enough.
Super Princess Peach is fun despite being a tad easy. Like a Kirby game.
For kind-of-a-platformer-but-not I've always loved Canvas Curse.
Metroidvanias you say? Well the DS has three of them so go crazy. All three are good times.
Super Princess Peach - in the states at least - has also gotten hard to find/pricey - but it's one of my favorites as well.
I second Henry Hatsworth, super fun although slightly repetitive. There were quite a few times I hit the "when in the hell will this level end?" point.
Kirby is always good and the Sonic games have been really solid.
Gianna Sisters is pretty decent, albeit generic too. Yoshis Touch and Go is an awesome game, but I'd say it's more of a puzzle game than an actual platformer.

I pronounce it bee-log.

WiiU: JamWarrior
Kirby: Canvas Curse/Power Paintbrush is a charming little thing that uses the DS well.
Sonic Rush Adventure and Sonic Colours are, weirdly enough, actual good Sonic games.
