i think one of the biggest abominations of this era

    is the facebook guilt trip

someone finds out you have a facebook account (or outright asks you if you have one), and then insists you add them

    if you do not

    if you are apprehensive

they take it so fucking personally

    it's retarded

I was there at the begining. I saw it birthed.

A gaping maw of 2400 baud chirps and squeals.

Windy City, Dungeon Keepers, Darktown.... I was there. on the infants BBS.

Compuserve, AOL, Prodigy, Usenet.... I was there, I saw the adolescent reach out with clumsy paws and talons.

256kbps, 512kbps, 1.5mbps.... I saw the grown beast emerge, hungry and aware for the first time.

3G, 4G, always on, and Fiber to your door.... I sit here now, the beast is big like a God. It's hungry. It devours all.

That's actually pretty worrying. In a couple of years the only copies some people are going to have of photos are the horribly compressed and resized versions saved on Facebook.

The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin. His father's a robot and he's fucking fucked his sister. Lego. They're all made of fucking lego.

The only thing I find funny about the current "young generation" is that since all the previous generations rebelled against their parents and their music by making their own music continually more hard rocking, we reached the point of terminal rockocity. The current generation can't rock any harder to offend or frighten their parents, so they have to go the other way and make bland, dull music.

The best part was not being able to communicate during battles, so one of us ended up sitting around for 10-15 minutes when the other was fighting a large-scale siege

Man, music rebellion peaked in the late 80's.

It counter-peaked in the early 90's with Nirvana and a record level of apathy.

But seriously, name a band nowdays that is all about rebelling.

    Rebelling nowdays is passe.

By current do you mean the 90's?

And this completely avoids the rise of hip hop and electronic music.

    Never had any of that.

I've only had Jack Daniels and have been working on this bottle of Jameson the past few Fridays.

I have to say it feels like a step in the right direction.
