ghost in the shell does sometimes have that issue where the characters pace their words strangely, I assume that comes from having to sync the words to the mouth movements

Man, could you guys imagine if they made FLCL in live-action?
Something tells me it'd be even cooler. Like, a mix of live-action and CG like in District 9?
I'm not sure FLCL could work as a live action without removing the parts of it that make it really unique. Kinda like trying to do a live action of Golden Boy.

Mind you, guys, FLCL transfered to a live action/special effects (special effects would be so crucial to it) medium would not be the same thing as FLCL animated at all. I agree completely that the animation is a key component of what it is, and the way Gainax plays with it is beautiful. The challenge would be to recreate the basic message, mood, and style of FLCL in the medium of live action film, which would require going about much of it in a different way.

Yes, it totally makes sense! I am just super busy right now with thesis stuff, I've got a presentation to make on Friday regarding my progress and all that jazz. I'll try and get around to writing up my thoughts and rolling the dice tonight.

I have been to a couple zoos that are pretty awesome. The one in Tokyo is great. San Diego is classic. And St. Louis is good to.
The one in NC is pretty nice, because a good amount of the pens are large habitats. Of course, this means you can't really see the animals some of the time.
I like aquariums better, anyways.

Oh man, I always wanted to go to the Osaka aquarium. Because it is suppose to be awesome.
I went there in January, actually!
It's pretty good, but as cool as they make it seem in all the photography, the place isn't actually that great overall. Some impressive stuff in there, and it was pretty cool seeing a (small-ish) whale shark in the giant tank, but it was still more or less an aquarium.
