    I was perusing Yahoo news and read an article about Lady Gaga's sister and, like a masochist, I started reading the comments. It reminded me of a quote I read in a book: "The irony of the information age is that it has given new respectability to uninformed opinion." After some browsing, I found out that I read it in Michael Crichton's Airframe, but the quote itself belongs to a reporter named John Lawton, who said it at a conference in 1995.

    That predates pretty much 95% of what is common on the internet today and I wonder if even he realized how bad things were going to get.

    Also I learned that you have to be ready to move immediately after spawning.

    Because there might be a helicopter shooting at your spawn point.

    Hey, any [chat] techies around?

    We just upgraded our internet connection to 12 Mbps, but all the "speed tests" I'm doing online are showing that we're only getting 3-4 Mbps connection speed. We didn't test it before switching (because I'm a dumb) so I don't know how good this is in comparison, but still.

    I remember reading something about the speed tests not doing a great job of showing your actual speed or something, but I forget. Anybody know about it?

    The F1 TV coverage has been reduced to a cameraman following Rhianna around the hospitality area.

    One cameraman from Italian TV was trying to walk backwards while keeping the camera on her, and someone from another broadcaster tripped him.
