The only people who ever have nightmare TSA stories are people who start shit with the TSA.
Except for all those who don't start shit with the TSA who do have horror stories?
I'm not saying some of those people didn't have valid complaints but seriously those stories always hit their "wtf" moments after the person starts to challenge the TSA about invading their privacy or their civil rights.
At least the ones that I'm privy to. I apologize if my statement is inaccurate and redact that part if that's the case.
I find people that harass or give the TSA a hard time WAY more annoying and difficult than the actual TSA.
The TSA are not asking you to do outlandish things, and they are not asking you to do things that are surprises.
If they ask you to hold on, just hold on. If they ask you if they can check the inseam in your pants, let them check the inseam in your pants. Put all your shit in the baskets and have your ID ready and your ticket ready and put them away when they say to put them away.
The only people who ever have nightmare TSA stories are people who start shit with the TSA. And all you are doing is holding up the goddamn line.
No one is asking anyone to fly. Take a bus! Or a train! Or a car!
Not directed at anyone in this [chat], just a rant
This seems a lot like "if you have nothing to hide you have nothing to fear".
Or that whole poem which is about how you exterminate the Jews in Germany.

It's one thing to say that policy isn't the fault of the low-level TSA employees.
It's another thing entirely to say "you don't get to complain about the completely ridiculous security measures the TSA takes when you could just walk to the opposite coast instead!"
You get to complain, of course. But find a time to complain that isn't when everyone else is waiting to get through security.

I mean, in the busiest airports, the turnover rate for TSA folk is 126%.
Or that whole poem which is about how you exterminate the Jews in Germany.
AT FIRST THEY CAME FOR THE BUSINESSMEN,
BUT I SAID NOTHING BECAUSE I DO NOT FLY WITH A LAPTOP
THEN THEY CAME FOR THE OLD LADIES WITH BIG HAIR,
BUT I SAID NOTHING BECAUSE I CARRY REASONABLY SIZED BATH PRODUCTS
Jesus Christ argument moved to TSA is doing the same thing as Nazi Germany way too quickly. Apparently it is a good time for me to apologize if I offended anyone and get out of [chat] until I'm in a better mood.
obviously every military employee is a fervent supporter of the war(s), including those on this very message board
You can use that to excuse anybody who isn't at the very top in any organization.
Yes.
Including all criminal organizations.
At some point, a person going into an organization has to accept some responsibility for furthering that organization's goals. If not, nobody is responsible for anything in an organization except for one or two people at the top, though even they can usually claim to be just following someone else with some credibility.

Before starting the enhanced pat-down procedure, a security officer did tell him what they were going to do and how they were going to it, but Sawyer said it wasn’t until they asked him to remove his sweatshirt and saw his urostomy bag that they asked any questions about his medical condition.
“One agent watched as the other used his flat hand to go slowly down my chest. I tried to warn him that he would hit the bag and break the seal on my bag, but he ignored me. Sure enough, the seal was broken and urine started dribbling down my shirt and my leg and into my pants.”
A Texas woman who said she was forced to remove a nipple ring with pliers in order to board an airplane called Thursday for an apology by federal security agents and a civil rights investigation.
"I wouldn't wish this experience upon anyone," Mandi Hamlin said at a news conference. "My experience with TSA was a nightmare I had to endure. No one deserves to be treated this way."
I could probably keep searching and find a lot more.

First they came for the lesbians,
and I didn't come because I wasn't a lesbian.
Then they came for the nubiles,
and I didn't come because I wasn't a nubile.
Then they came for the grannies,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a granny.
Then they came for me
which was pretty weird, now that I think about it.

Yes, please, just get on and quietly get to the back of the bus.
The key to enacting change is to not inconvenience anyone, ever.

But Thanatos, very polite letter writing campaigns to Congressmen who don't give a fucking shit and will do jack unless pushed are soooooooo effective.
Actually the current lawsuit that was just filed in federal court by the unions in Wisconsin kind of would fuck up that anti-union mandate the TSA has if it goes through and becomes a precedent. Since it would state that removing collective bargaining rights would infringe on the rights of the workers.
Oh well, the idea of people unable unionize is really wrong to me. How else would workers stand on equal footing with their much more powerful and larger employers.

what about the employees of MCI Worldcom, Enron, Tyco, etc.
and according to US law, the people that are responsible are pretty much the one or two people at the top.
Again, I apologize if my opinion was offensive to anybody and of course I don't share the view that TSA procedures are even remotely at a level that reflects nazism or denying someone civil rights based on the color of their skin. Those kinds of acts are something I'm obviously very much against, and what I've witnessed does not place TSA security on that level, but I should be more mindful that my experience is not that of everyone.
I appreciate the articles, Feral, and will think before I rant next time.
A lot of problems with the TSA comes from people who are under trained, overworked and under payed. Really these people should be constantly and well trained with good pay and benefits. Because doing otherwise cause lots of problems. Especially with a high stress job.
Ugh, I just have lots of problems with how the TSA is run. And those problems bleed over through poor management lots of problems with the people working under that management.

Many of the low level employees were ignorant of the wrongdoing though a lot of them like the accountants were directly. That doesn't apply to shit where the person is most likely a recent hire and the goals of fucking people over are fairly well known.
US law has jack shit to do with reality outside of a legal context.

Improvement would cost money and god forbid we slightly hurt any US industry or have the government spend any more money.
“Unionizing the 43,000 security screeners at TSA could give labor unions a $17 million annual windfall in the form of new union dues,” he said. “This is a hearty payback to the unions for helping Democrats win the past election. These dues can then be kicked back to lawmakers in the form of political contributions without the consent of rank-and-file union members.”
It's not like US law is all that great in the first place
This is one of the asinine things you have said. US law isn't any worse than pretty much any other countries. It has stupid things and has things that work really well.

It's pretty unnerving to listen to!!
Sums up my view of the TSA pretty well. Other comics there can be NSFW. This one is not.
I'll take your word for it. I'll never portend to be expert on it. I've seen Chicago in the theaters and I liked that Reefer Madness musical.

About the same level of security as Canadas Wonderland or a sports event, really.
That's my experience, anyway.

It involves me yelling loudly, constantly.
