Honestly, this can never, EVER be as bad as the show with little girls on broomsticks, wearing WWII fighter plane stockings and flying around to fight the aliens invading earth. I barely made it past the opening credits before I came to the conclusion that every single episode would disgust me as those first 2 minutes.

So I remember two years ago now, a bunch of Hetalia cosplayers at AB decided to have a photoshoot. And a couple people as Germany decided to throw up a Sieg Heil. In front of the Holocaust Memorial. On Passover.

And the best part is that the girl apologized not for doing a salute to Hitler, but because of the location and date. Luckily everyone pretty much tore them all a new one and it single-handedly ended the rampaging fandom at AB

There are some people who just shouldn't be touching history in any shape or form. Especially WWII. And especially JAPAN.

I remember there actually being a debate at a con once as to whether or not wearing a Nazi/SS/Wehrmacht uniform was acceptable. And two arguments put forth as to why it was okay were: "Japan does it" and "That happened so long ago, get over it"

The following year there was an uptick in Inglorious Bastards cosplay.
