Links to tumblr are causing my internet to disconnect.

I have no idea what the deal with this is. Every now and then someone will link me to a tumblr page. I click it and the page begins to load then suddenly my internet connection drops for about 45 seconds or a minute. This happens with chrome or IE.

To be truthful I hardly notice it because I don't visit tumblr regularly and no other sites have caused the problem but sure enough if I click a link to a tumblr without paying attention i'm on my way to being disconnected.

Any ideas?

    Ping tumblr in the command prompt and see what happens.

    No problems. I can ping tumblr.com and visit tumblr.com but if it's a like to a specific page or a particular post I get the problem. In fact it may only happen if that link comes from facebook. I'm going to try to get someone to send me one of the links through gmail or something.

    Yet that is exactly what i see here.
