There really hasn't been much done to show that older vampires are naturally more powerful beyond saying it. In almost every battle between younger and older the younger has won.

So many awesome things, I can't even process it all.

Probably my favorite episode this season.

I'm pissed off that the fairy elder went down like such a chump. For being so crazy gungho twenty seconds before, the fairy gang sure didn't do shit when they actually needed to.

I think getting killed was her objective. She said she wouldn't let them go OUT THERE and die. Pretty sure its part of the master plan. Going to love it if Jason kills Russell while he's being face blasted with fairy beams.

When people ask me how old I am; I just tell them I was a part of the Great Console War..... we won.

I considered that possibility, and concluded that it's fucktarded.

Yeah it's possible entering their realm or whatever does very bad things to a vampire, or the elder was just stupid

These are the main options that I see. Alternately, when Eric drank a fairy he was drunk and then basically passed out. That would be useful, unless it only happened because he was in the sun.

It'll be funny if Lilith is actually the spirit of a human who hates vampires, like Marnie or Antonia, and wants to start a war between vampires and humans so that vampires could be wiped out.

It's like they read the discussion a few pages ago about flying vampires.

My favorite scene of the whole episode is Pam escorted through the headquarters and passing Sam being escorted the other way.

Sam - "The fuck are you doing here?"
Pam - "What the fuck are YOU doing here?"
    Sam - "Please, help Luna!"
Pam - "WHO THE FUCK IS LUNA?!"

    New spin off idea:

Alcide and the T-1000 traveling the country in their RV, shootin' vamps with bows.

Too bad they killed off the kid vampire chancellor. They could have given him a backstory with Alcide's dad
    Spoiler:

Also, kind of interesting that Jason is apparently packing anti-vampire ammo as standard issue. I guess it's possible he did it after Mike got turned (and nice way to explain that this week, with the roving packs of baby vamps).

Pretty sure that was implied when he said Andy had them working triple shifts with all the vampire attacks. Not much use to be on duty without wooden bullets if the situation is vamps.

I feel like watching a whole season of fill for a single episode....and it's an episode that hasn't happened yet. A lot of random stuff happened and it's been fun, but the overall story? Messy writing as fuck.

So as someone who just started watching True Blood this season is it worth my time to go back and watch the prior seasons? Are they available on HBO GO(I'd have to finally get around to signing up for it)?

I like this season better than the "witches season" because I am enjoying the Lillith/World of Darkness aping going on here.

But there has been oodles of really, really sloppy stories afoot.

This season has established the 3 common traits of old vampires to be fangs, fear of daylight & profound incurable case of "teh dumb hormone". I mean, honestly.

Yeah vampire "nests" is a pretty common thing in vampire stories too. The fact that there are sideffects if they engage in it too much in True Blood is a nice touch as well. Plus Liliths blood is giving everyone BRAIN TROUBLES

The most interesting thing, is that it confirms Lilith has some form of physical manifestation. And that she apparently wants all the Authority dead.

Too bad centuries old vampires have never encountered it and didn't realize there was a risk of it happening, so they all cuddled together under the ground to live happily ever after.
I honestly don't want to get into an argument about this season's story arc or execution, I realize that a lot of people hated on the witch season and while it wasn't the best I enjoyed it significantly more than this year's offering.
Still, let's hope next Sunday ends with a bang. It's looking promising.

They don't go this crazy because of nesting, they're going this crazy because they're drinking and sharing Liliths blood

"regular" nesting is probably something they were very aware of. Liliths blood is screwing them all up though

At first I thought it was just Salome tricking everyone but now that she's seeing Lilith as well I really have no idea what's going on

We're introduced to Nesting back in Season 1, with the vampires that get Molatoved, so it isn't like they just introduced it conveniently for this arc.

Ah, I must have missed Jason's line about vamp attacks. Although it would have been nice to see that happening in Bon Temps, in addition to somewhere outside of Jackson, MS.

And I still say the vampires' plan is stupid: Let's get rid of the synthetic blood and then go make more vampires, who will go out and kill indiscriminately without guidance from their makers. I know it's been done before, but it would be funny to see the Authority realize too late that they've gone and made humans extinct.

To be fair, nesting vamps going nuts is something Pam said, and while she's awesome, she's not exactly reliable. Besides, the real issue seems to be Lilith's blood (and the fact that they killed Roman).

Bill says back in season 1 that the vampires that show up at his house (the black chick and the guys, with the Hepatitis-carrying cabana boy) are part of a Nest, and that it makes them extra sadistic and fucked in the head.

It seems like the blood of Lilith just enhances the process (since it is said that its the feeding off vampire blood that is the actual issue), and is likely what made the Authority members fucked up enough to consider killing Roman in the first place.

I don't think they know of any other supers in general, or reliable ones specifically to go form a super strike team. Even if they did I don't think killer mice are going to cut it. Bring on the UV bombs!

And we still don't know for sure what is up with Lillith. Could be anything. Maybe what's her name, head Lillith believer, is just falling for her own lies. She's nuts and spreading it around.

They know about supers. Hell he said that they have been observing the Authority for 20 years..far before vamps started "coming out of the coffin".

I still stand by the concept that the vamps don't stand a chance with all their weaknesses. I mean, you could kill them with a m80 and some pencils...
