Another 'use the collective brain to locate trivia' thread:
Looking for the name of an animated TV programme last seen 5-10 years ago. Pretty high quality animation and I think the original production was French.
The subject was principally sci-fi and relatively serious in tone, revolving around the travails of a particular group of free traders/couriers and their battles (metaphorical, legal, and pew-pew laseral) with the local hegemonic bastards, called "The Consortium", who want all the <thing of the week> to themselves.
The underlying gimmick that enabled these independents to hold their own was principally that they had the best navigators and star-maps so could get things done faster and with less bureaucracy.
Final bit of information was that the primary characters were two human men (the handsome captain and the ancient, scruffy engineer), one blue alien girl with tentacles for arms, her pet ...something and their ship, which the engineer was blatantly in love with.
Anyone know what I'm thinking of?
