crates are locked boxes that drop occasionally

in order to open one, you need to purchase a key from the mannco store for 2.50

each crates has a few predetermined items it can contain

usually a few standard weapons, some hats, and maybe a paint or two

very rarely one can find an unusual hat, which is like a normal hat but with a fancy particle effect attached

Does anyone know if the new hats and stuff found in crates can also drop? I really want a heavy jaw thing, but I don't have anything Super Cool to trade for it, and if they don't drop they'll only become more rare when Coolers are gone.

I wouldn't think any of the summer stuff is right now. Gotta make that money.

e: They only way to get the mailbox is through crates or crafting tokens which gives you one of 6 melee weapons. Not good odds unfortunately.

If you care to play computer poker at all, it's probably worth it. It has some pretty entertaining writing, and you should be able to get the items before it starts repeating a bunch.
