Yeah, this song is okay. I actually loathe most of her music beyond The Runaways, whereas this song just sounds like a Runaway grown up.
tits
Wasn't completely blown over by the Gojira track, but hey it sounds like Gojira.
Anyone listened to the new Torche? Normally I don't pay much attention to this band but I've heard some good things. Seems to be swinging in more of a psych rock direction, even some pop parts I guess? Maybe they're following Mastodon into the slim-down category. Sounds like Mastodon meets Monster Magnet meets the Foo Fighters to me.
I'm still letting the new Torche record sink in, but so far I'm digging it, even though some bits of it are floating a bit to close to prog rock for my personal tastes. It's interesting that you mention the pop aspects of Torche, since at first blush the new record has fewer blatantly pop bits than Meanderthal and especially Songs For Singles.
Oh, if you haven't heard Meanderthal, listen to that sucker ASAP.
I'm hoping they tour behind the new record, other than their current swing opening for Corrosion of Conformity, since they're a fun live band but there's no way I'm paying $texas to watch one opening band.
Huh, I guess they are. Not releasing anything in 6 years led me to think otherwise.
You're welcome!
I'm pretty sure one (or more) of them is in Ghost, so that would explain the slow progress if true.
I shall have to go back to it. I only vaguely remember it.
Not original by any means, but very jerky intense and some memorable slices of riffing. They are called Desecravity if you can't read the logo.
The new Holocausto Canibal album Gorefilia is also great if you're after some modern Carcass worship with tech death elements interspersed into the grinding fun. Can't post the cover here. Also check out the new Pighead. Really solid brutal/slam (again, nothing unique but well done for what it is).
And who woulda thunk it, but the new Prong album is excellent, probably one of my favorite thrash yet of 2012...
I'm almost positive they pulled the plug after the debut, so they must have quietly resuscitated. I figured Tribulation was going to have to carry on the throne.
Cheers for the death metal suggestions, Auto. I pulled out Plainfield Cemetery on a driving trip last week and have been in the mood.
Interesting to hear Kvarforth doing all cleans (assuming that's him).
Wild Hunt debut album is pretty sweet, sort of like newer Enslaved mixed with some rhythmic sludge. There's a track streaming here:

Gotta reiterate how great the Occultation album is. Might be my favorite of the year thus far. Wanna make female fronted psychedelic doom metal better? Have Negative Plane involved.
Also, non-metal, there's a new Infected Mushroom album coming and it sounds quite good if you're into electro. Some vocals and heavy bits on there too. Just as uncanny and eccentric as usual.
Storm Corrosion is out there. There are a few tracks I dig. Might write a review. Its definitely background music.
Great feel to it

New Blood of the Black Owl is due sometime soon.
Yeah, I was expecting something a bit more harsh for the Katatonia cover. I think it's cool that he tried something besides his usual, but it would have worked better to alter it into their own style a bit.
That Infected Mushroom caught me off guard with all the modern dubstep-y elements. It sounds good, though.
The new Lonndom EP is sweet, they are moving back into a darker direction, though not metal like the first album. Review is up.
And a sample:
I just found out that Amazon have some of the Running Wild albums that I can't get as downloads. I'd rather have the cd but £24 for a used version of Black Hand Inn makes me want to cry.
It was lots of fun, I had no familiarity with them beforehand but I came away really impressed. Great vocals, catchy melodies. All on top of some really heavy power metal riffing that wasn't afraid to go into some brutal breakdowns at some parts. Also, they covered "Out of the Silent Planet" which is a surefire way to win me over.
In with a classic
That Lonndom track sounds great
It's great stuff. Classic doom sound but with different vocals for once.
Did you listen to the new Wodensthrone?
Checked out some clips here and there. Sounds like it should be excellent, but we'll see. I see someone already went overboard and gave it 100& on MA.
And, yea, that Anguish album is indeed great stuff. Buddy who was with me as we were listening to it describes it as Bathory meets Candlemass.
I wanna give something new a 100. Before the world ends. I just haven't heard it lately. Anyone got anything amazing lately of the 2012 variety?
There's a new Assessor album...first in 22 years. Unexpected.
Unrelated, just got back from The Avengers and I dug it. Love the Black Sabbath shirt on Tony Stark.
I want more of this:
