    Well the age is a left over from the prohibition movement in many ways. DUIs are getting more and more considered major as time goes on. You haven't been to a frat party, we party hard. Actually most colleges have binge drinking problems with their students.

    The whole proof thing is left over of using the imperial system. But they also have alcohol by volume on the labels as well.

    But a lot of our view on liquor comes from lots of the early colonist and such were puritans. But also tons of Irish so we have fights verse the anti-liquor folks and those who don't care. Aka your distant cousins.

    America does have a lot of unhealthy views. Mostly since we treat it as a taboo. But I think that is changing as well. I think part of our stickler with the 21 drinking age goes with our war on drugs and the damn puritan streak going through the culture. But I figure it will drop to 18 with voting and joining the army at some point.

    I think a lot of it is people don't realize how much a shift it will take to make us "European" that way. There are very major undertones of people like this...

    Also I think as the population shifts away from the tradition WASP to more of our current minorities you will see some major changes. Also a lot of it depends on the states. Actually the drinking age wasn't a national law, it was the states being blackmailed in the 1970's into the 1980's by the feds withholding highway funding.

    Colorado use to be 18.

    I feel like such a tool. I have 24 tickets for the Steam Summer Slam... Every day of the sale, I spent a solid 15$ if not more.
