AW damn, they nerfed fireball?

I loved fireball. And I mean I would like it to remain fairly strong on account of it is the 4th thing you can get, which can take a while.

Yeah, since old saves don't work I'm going to restart a promethean character to see how big the fireball nerf was.

I mean, even if they halved the damage, I could still see easily beating the game again with a promethean magic character.

I just wish they'd make the other schools worth a damn. How are the direct damage lightning attacks in viking magic? anything to write home about, or crap?

Well dang, apparently selling a stacked item sells the whole stack, but I see no way to unstack items. Anyone know how?

you can unstack items by putting them in the .. uh.. something press? One of the smithing items that turns stuff into ingots.

It has 4 spaces and you just click and it drops them in one by one

At first when I picked viking magic I thought it was like the fire stuff, but I think it works better if you're trying to play a person who puts magic into your melee weapons kinda thing and uses magic to weaken people so when you do fight then in melee its easier.

yep, reloaded my old save and I'm happy to report that fireball is still ridiculously good (at least, at the point my character was at, lvl 21 with tons of gear and buffs).

also, here are a few images of items I found in my trip down to floor 10 that made me laugh.

I was pretty confused when I seemed to find two recipes for the same sword that required different items, until I realised one was a tinkerer method.

Ok what?! Just found a flail of the pleiades and broader axe in a first floor Brax shop. On a mace/axe character. This is a test right? If I don't steal them I'll get them anyway in some sort of morality play twist?

Just found Doul's Possible Sword on a floor 2 shop.

56k zorkmids (I'm a few tens of thousands short), or I could just hammer burglar (I'm a few levels short) and try to 5 finger discount it.

Also, on this character I haven't put a single weapon onto the anvils, instead I got some decent armour (steel curiass, knight's helm, runed iron skjoldr) and started tossing those onto anvils, pretty good results, extra defense, specific defenses against some types, extra enemy dodge reduction and such.

Seems to be working very well, takes me a bit longer to work my way through the enemies but I'm also having far less panic moments.

I anvil whatever item I have that's most easily replaceable. Ever since I anvil'd a brand new 20 damage sword and got -2 trap sight radius I've been wary of those steely bastards.

I will probably try an anvil on Doul's Possible Sword, once I acquire it, if it gets cursed I'll ragequit for sure.

Yeah that is a thing that sucks.

I had a sword that gave me +10 health and when I threw it on an anvil one day it removed 3 of those health.

Also I anvilled a shield I had already done like 2 or 3 times and it got nothing, so either there is a limit or I just got unlucky
