Couldn't you just open up a list of servers on Steam, and add it to your favorites that way?
I can never find the servers in the browser, and there's too many to pick through anyway.
on the servers window in steam click the favorites tab and in the bottom right, click "add a server", add the ip that way.
Oh, yeah that's a lot easier. Especially since the connect command doesn't work on servers with passwords.

I hate, HATE that I have to constantly be looking around or risk dying in one hit. Overhealed, medic on me, it don't matter. One click and I'm dead and that sucks.
I hate this about snipers too, but at least they have a laser sight and can't turn invisible.

the puff-blast-axtinguish combo is pretty ace

No, it was a genuine.
...it's a straight upgrade to the flaregun.
Flaregun fully crits on flaming targets, detonator mini-crits.
the main projectile does less damage, you have to press alt fire at the right time for it to be better

Died during a Quick-Fix uber (not much use versus headshots) and its weird sound effects persisted until I left the server for the night
It was comedically loud to the point that I could barely hear voicechat
so the expectation that its uber would be used in the same circumstances is a silly one
it's not meant to keep someone alive through heavy sustained fire (though it can do this, just not remotely as well as the medigun)
it's meant to bring a group of heavily injured mans back into fighting shape very quickly
and that's ignoring the fact that the key feature of the quick fix is its ability to generally heal very quickly
so pointing at the quick-fix's uber and saying it's not very good is just dumb
like pointing at michael crichton and saying he's a shitty science fiction writer
as it stands it only seems like a good idea to use it if another medic is around to overheal
much like the kritzkrieg uber benefits high damage classes like soldier and demoman
