Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given

Or maybe that was Guitar Hero 3
What did you think was red octane?
Red octane is the company that originally made dance pads and then teamed up with harmonix on guitar hero. Red octane did the hardware and initially acted as a publisher as well, while harmonix developed the actual games. Activision bought red octane and subsequently used neversoft to do the rest of the guitar hero games. Viacom bought harmonix, which then developed rock band.
Red Octane was the company that was sold to Activision as part of their purchase of Guitar Hero from Harmonix. They only ever made Guitar Hero stuff.
I have one of these.
My friends and I have taken to calling it The Duke.
I also have a Hori pad I use exclusively for BlazBlue (I have a really hard time using a stick in that one for some reason). We call that one The Duchess.
