This is exciting. It's nice to have some order early in the game.
I think it helps that while we're all varying degrees of new here, we've seen some absolutely crazy phalla in that time. I think most of us have a pretty solid general idea of how to play, it's more subtle things that we'd mess up on.
Stever was running, gasping for breath, as the chopper came into view. The angry horde was closing in fast though, it was clear that he wasn't going to make it. Giving his partner a nod, Stever hoped that his partner could get somewhere nice, maybe some Island. As for him? He was left there, Dead.
In another part of the steam empire, A Hero was Wandering, trying out the brand new combat mechs. So when he heard a wooshing noise in the middle of combat and saw some guy in a suit he brushed it off. Sure weird stuff happened around him all the time, but this was in combat so it's not like whatever that was would hurt him. The suited figure threw a sparking box onto his mech, which stopped it dead in it's tracks. He was still trying to get it off, when a knife found his back.
Cythraul ducked down behind cover. His enemy was relentless. It seemed like every time he was able to tag his enemy with a shot, he just ducked behind cover and was good as new. Whereas he felt every grazing shot and near miss. It was a battle of attrition that he simply could not win, as a lucky shot stained the Floor red. Cythraul was Killed.
Elsewhere, 2 hulking red figures met in battle, both boasting extensive experience with War. A flash of orange distracts them both, and the hooded one is able to make his escape.

KingMole, lead us to victory like the true sovereign you are.
Presumably the narration would show Wandering Hero as also dying from a red kill if the vig and mafia both targeted him? But then the narration could be interpreted to suggest that WH died from multiple causes, so I guess we can't really be sure what happened. But in any case we seem to be off to a decent start so far.
Taya again as a placeholder vote. Point us to the Newell's enemies, KingMole!

I actually missed that. I'm just gonna assume it was an oversight, 'cause Spoit laid out the breakdown of village/mafia pretty clearly so I doubt there will be neutrals.
I guess?

It's not colored? It looks like it is to me, but let me double check the BBcode. Cythraul was a villager
EDIT: oh in the text of the narration. Thanks for pointing that part out tmoiy, fixed

On the one hand it's kind of suspicious if anyone tried to save stever.
On the other hand this is newbie Phalla and it totally would not have occurred to me that his mason claim could be used to make a network, so I can't exactly fault others for not latching on right away. :P

I'll vote for 38thdoe again, for the same reasons as yesterday.
Would we know from the narration if WH was a mafia target? Like, would it say both "Failed to move the gear up" and "Not balanced for lean", or whatever the flavor text is, next to his name?
I expect to see these "placeholder" votes on Taya either given an actual reason to exist or moved by the end of the night.
I absolutely hate it when people put placeholders with no reasoning and don't move them. Particularly because it's so easy for mafia to hide in there.
I still do have my eye on you Taya though. You're not in the clear.
On a different note though, it is possible that the mafia is not using their second kill to try to use the guard as a sort of pseudo-naive seer, but that probably won't work now that there is an actual network, and I probably wouldn't take that chance if I was mafia. They might have fairly devious mentors, though.
My friend is working on a roguelike game you can play if you want to. (It has free demo)
But seriously, network heads don't specifically vote for mafia. They vote for who they think is mafia. Sheeping after one person makes it easy for the mafia to hide, and leads to a village with no useful voting records when/if the network dies.

Fair enough, but I figure the village head has more information than anyone. Certainly more than I have. So what am I supposed to be basing my suspicions on on day 2?

And this time I don't have a busdriver to kill the network head.
I mean, the mafia doesn't have a busdriver. Those evil mafia.

And then there's facetious. :bz

Anyway it's too bad we didn't get any mafia but I think we're in a good place already.
Damn day ones. I was looking forward to this phalla.

But for the sake of simplicity
Is Cythraul's colourlessness in the narration by intention or by accident?
