there are games of up to 60, these are just minis, and it is in a slow period at the moment.

Although I should say, I don't know exactly how the mentor thing will work out with my absurd schedule.

I can usually play a little bit before 4PM, when my work shift starts, then 11:30 until like 5am after I get home. Then repeating whenever I wake up.

So, unless there's a sudden upswing in signups tomorrow, enough to make me think that we could get to the 20 person game that I'd honestly prefer, I'll probably close signups and start it tomorrow night with a 15 person game.

I can be available 6pm-11pm EST almost always. And I sneak a peek between 7am-6pm EST when I can. This mentoring is probably the easiest way to start adjusting to the new site. I've been lazy about it.

My problem is that either I contact -nobody- and look suspicious because I'm an unknown or I contact people and just take crazy chances, usually leading to my death. I prefer the latter style of play!

You can also make up your own roles then contact people pretending to have them or know others who do. That way you look so horribly suspicious no one votes for you... or everyone does plus you get vigged because you claimed vote immunity, one of those. I would recommend against that though, creative lying should remain within the bounds of what you can be sure of as much as possible.
