I'm pretty sure the SC judges are all facing challenges this year

The ones who are up for reelection that is.

There's been a lot of talk about how they're getting into a lot of shit that isn't their domain.

I meant local, always just one dude running. Not even goodspaceguy bothers there.

Speaking of goodspaceguy, three other candidates for governor actually got less votes than he did (at least so far). Ouch.

Of course one of them had campaign literature that made him sound like a neo Nazi so that's not surprising.

The agitation about the judges seems to be the usual right wing bullshit.

Can thank Tim Eyman for that one. He's trying to stack the bench so that all his shit-ass garbage initiatives that morons keep voting for stop getting ruled unconstitutional.

The first response when I posted it was, predictably, that there should be at least five options on every ballot because people need to look past political parties.

on the bright side, secretary of state looks to be fairly close

podlowski has a real shot at bridging that gap in november

Against my better judgement I read a Danny Westneat article about the local election. He complained we're becoming more polarized because Chris Vance repudiating Donald Trump didn't earn him liberal votes. Uhh fuck you Danny.

    19% turnout in King County.

I can't even get the energy to be disappointed anymore.

Yep, you get your ballot mailed to you. In our defense though, it is a primary in august and the mail box is way over there.

Also like the third primary this year. But yes low turn out for these types of elections is so annoying.

mail-in elections can't make people feel like their vote matters

Also the amount of "free" voting drop points is surprisingly low. It's almost as if a certain Republican official in charge of voting realizes that lower turnout means better results for her party...

You'd think they'd put one at every post office, but I guess not!

Or just had post offices in general be a drop off point, since you know mail and all. But I'm sure its too expensive and much easier to put them at specifically chosen city halls. Just like DMV locations got closed in urban poorer areas "accidentally".

I was referring to the election department not the voter. The ballots requiring stamps is silly.

I'm pretty sure if you put them in the mail without postage the USPS will deliver them
but it's not an official thing

but yeah the minimal amount of drop boxes is asinine

USPS will still deliver them, if they're mailed in king county

    I'm not sure about elsewhere

It's just as bad in the 8th district. One dem wanted to drop out and won anyway, now he's basically not running against the GOP who also won.

Plus side is the 7th all Dems won.

The issue isn't FTFP, it's the asinine jungle "primary". Turns out that turning your primary election into a general doesn't actually improve the electoral process.

If only there was some way of choosing the candidates you're going to run before the election.

They can spew out a candidate like Trump.
