Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

You are really gonna hate the internet in 5 years.
Besides that I endorse the new site design on the basis of the 404 page alone, pity we'll rarely get to see it.
In my opinion the fewer social media icons the better.
In 5 years? I assume we already passed the peak of social media icons a couple years back when every article on any website would typically have about 30. That seems to have died down quite a bit. Now if we could just get rid of comment sections on every fucking thing.
edit: I'm not sure how the quote tree got so messed up. I didn't edit it.
just hit cancel
it does not make sense not to -- it's just more visitors and more money from ads, and instead of people having to seek out Penny Arcade specifically, it can be delivered directly to their Facebook feed, so they never miss content
@Bryceforvice on Twitter Facebook
That's......that's a pretty good idea.
Penny Arcade 7.0 made me curious about the evolution of the site's look, especially in the years before I started reading. Some people may find The Internet Wayback Machine archives of the PA site interesting, although obviously since sponsor banners and a lot of other stuff are missing the previous iterations cannot be captured in their full glory.
this is stupid.
But I dig the new site!

Uhhh
Gabe and Tycho both use twitter fairly regularly, most Gabe though. Khoo does as well, as well as a number of staff. Then there's the official PAX twitter account and the PA merch account.

What spring does with the cherry trees.
Still not a single official social networking presence for the whole PA empire, like the Facebook page that was being suggested in the post I quoted. I did not mean to imply that there's no social network presence for PA at all, I mentioned the fact that Mike books face after all.
The same reason the mobile version of the forum mysteriously changed to an old-school-vibe blue theme a while ago? (The answer being: who fucking knows.)

I mean it's not as 'robust' as a FB page, but

Re. the user/pass, intermittent issue, shouldn't be troubling anyone anymore.
Thanks for the feedback everyone!
ps. re lack of staff icon, MAYBE I'M NOT STAFF AT ALL BAHAHAHA ROBERT YOU'RE NOT THE BOSS OF ME
/me goes back to bugfixes
I'm hoping that it's still easily accessible to folks who are with low bandwidth connections.
I'm sure you folks are already thinking about that though.
So if he's not the boss, can we say there's been a Khoo d'état?
a definite improvement
the old site was good but this one is definitely cleaner
Thank you, sir.

Seeing as the main draw of the site is a webcomic, I reckon the link to the current comic needs to be significantly higher up in the hierarchy. Something like a custom button, the width of the newspost with "current comic" or something like that.
New comers to the site just wanna see that comic, curently it's too hard to find in my opinion.
wish the blue was a little darker, but that's just personal preference
shit, I hate the internet now.
The main draw of the site is the comic?
I thought it was Jerry's newsposts.
I kid of course, that's the main draw for me. It does seem a little weird to have it set up this way. The newcomer to the site can always click "comic" at the top of the page though. It's not just that little icon.
I never even saw that.
which brings me back to my hierarchy argument.
I don't think many people will miss it.
stage your very own khoo
people don't really look at headers. It's pretty easy to tell instantly where "content" starts and your eyes tend to gravitate right there.

They don't? I mean it's easy for us to ignore it because it's the same thing we ignore everytime we view the forum, but a brand new person who wants to view the comic isn't likely to have issues finding the link.
That said, I think having a spot for the new comic in the news area is a good idea.
