Commercials are saying House is next, so an hour later than usual. Unless the local news decides they want to interrupt it, it should be on tonight.

I hate it how on television shows the person who runs the hospital is always a doctor. I know it is silly to get hung up on that detail, but it is such a glaring error- as hospital administrators/CEO are almost never physicians- and I think it misses an opportunity for real conflict.

I liked House in prison, wish they would run with it for a few more episodes.

They kinda touched on this in one of the early seasons with the drug company owner dude.

It'd be a great (in a "fuck you but not" kind of way) to end the whole show really.

Everything has been the hallucinations of House in a mental institution after some major traumatic fuck up on his part, and thus neatly explaining away all the crazy wrong medicine.

So Fox preempted House. My DVR got the first ten minutes of it.

Is there any way to watch that episode legally online, or am I going to have to DVR the next one and wait until Hulu puts up last night's?

If you have Hulu plus, it's up on there now.

I didn't get any goddamn House last night; they played Terra Nova (which I've officially given up on) instead, and then the news.

I was checking here to see if Fox was going to play it at some bullshit time that I would miss. I might have to scour the Interwebs for this one.

Depends on the institution. CEO of my hospital is an MD.

    Is it a teaching hospital?

I've worked in or visited (in a work capacity) about 75 hospitals and have never encountered a physician CEO, but I've never been involved at a teaching hospital.

Charlanne Yi is on Conan tonight. She said she was discovered by the producers from her previous appearance on his show. She said did they not listen to me say "I'm awful actor." And her whole interviews is basically I'm a terrible actress, they had to get me an acting coach and I'm terrible at table reads.

On the other hand she's really charming. So there's that.

I really tend to not mind her, if only because I know far too many people in academia/science that actually act like that in real life.

I saw her in a mockumentary with Michael Cera where she played herself. It was pretty much the same as her House character.

I don't mind her so much, but yeah, she is really a terrible actor.

So Hugh Laurie did an interview with Conan last week and very strongly hinted this might be the final season. Maybe one more.

I'd be okay with this. I have a feeling that this season is going to be a series of very special episodes in which old characters show up for a day or two and House says goodbye.

At this point I think that's the only ending that would be both logical and an actual ending.

Next week is Chase and Taubs big return episode......

Oh, joy. Lets focus on the two guys who where not the least bit interesting back when this show was any good and have only gotten worse since.

In fact lets focus on them for the whole hour.

Fuck, this season could have been about House building a new team of people that didn't activly hate him. House is such a jerk that PPTH should be littered with ex-team members that hate his guts. Not recycling the same two boring faces over and over again.

Edit. My idea still leaves room for chamberlain's ending. House is a borderline psycho. As shown by this weeks episode where Wilson had to in effect bribe him 200 dollars so that he wouldn't get someone inocently fired for 100 dollars.

And we can only hope they leave after this episode.

I'm only a few minutes in, but I love the intro.

"Why do you want to go back?"

"Because I love being about to do crazy shit while saving lives."

  • chamberlainchamberlain Registered User regular
I know that the end made no sense, and once the afterglow of Wilson's simple 'No.' wears off I will have to think about the actual logistics of it, but

Also, glad to see they took the high road with Taub.

So I just realized where I've seen this season's premise before. The Dean (of Medicine) has placed House on double secret probation.

And I think the ending just cemented the fact that House never left the mental hospital. That or it's all hallucinations as House overdoses on his bathroom floor.

He installed a giant, mechanical wall that he can remotely open that connects the diagnostic office and Wilson's office.

Have they always had adjacent offices? I'd imagined Wilson was on another floor or something.

I did too. I think they've shown Wilson in the Oncology wing, which maybe is the same wing as House. It seems little odd for the orthopedics team to also be located there, too.

I like the idea of him shifting entire rooms better.

They've had adjacent offices since the start. They share the balcony.

  • DecoyDecoy Registered User regular
Well, I knew Wilson was down the hall (there's plenty of times they've gotten to each others office from the outside walkway), but it always looked like there was a larger space between their offices.

Oh well. I still laughed my ass off.

It's my fault really. He wouldn't have to hit me if I just gave him the vicodin. He loves me.

  • LarsLars Registered User regular
Pretty much. I think they addressed it in the episode where House's dad died and Wilson had to drive him to the funeral.
    Spoiler:

Though Wilson is at his best when he's dishing abuse towards House as well (ie. Sawing his cane, or proposing to him in order to prevent him from scoring with the woman they were both interested in, etc).
