Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Alright
just finished Grant Morrison's Supergods

it's an insanely detailed analysis of the comics medium/autobiography/comparison between art and culture/drug induced ramblings

he mentions an idea that culture alternates between optimistic hippie give peace a chance/antagonistic rebellious punk over a period of time, among other things

it's got some random, weirdass, bullshit that really didn't need to be said, but above all other things, the entire thing is interesting, if just to see him talk about the importance of fiction and myth in our lives, and how he became how he is now

of course, he can't resist talking about the real life superheroes, including Phoenix Jones, which is questionable

talks about how we're all super with the machines in our lives

but, this is what I want to talk about, not comics

the capability of man for good and evil, the JFKs, the Gandhis, the MLKs, the Thatchers, the Reagans, the terrorists

the idea that good always wins, even if the war doesn't end

that we can all become better, all redeemed over time

that the heroes in our lives are real, that our ideas show our future

I don't know, i just thought it was interesting and worth talking about
