not a hint of thunder
and then the most deafening crash I've ever heard
though the term's been cheapened, it's pretty apt:
it is epic outside right now
in fact it's still going on

I love it when the thunder is so immense as though you can almost feel it physically wash over you. We've had two good storms like that this year, one I slept through and didn't wake up until there was a crash that literally the whole town heard (you could ask anyone about it the next morning, they all gave the same time it woke them up), and the last one I watched for the better part of three hours as it went from one end of town over us and to the other end, until there were only faint flashes over the mountains. I love storms.
