These death mode levels in Sound Shapes can eat a dick.

man yea, a couple of those were pretty intense. the one with the electrified pillars sticking up out of the lava in particular comes to mind, i forget the name. its in the beyonder set of levels.
Yep, a few of them can be incredibly frustrating. They quickly turn what was an amazing experience into an incredibly frustrating one, especially since the notes randomly spawn. I complained to one of the devs about the luck based element on GAF but who knows if they've any intention of patching it. Just keep at it Diarmuid and you'll eventually get lucky with the note placement when you're playing well.

So what's up with this Native Youtube App? It keeps crashing on me, and I can't just install more RAM or something.

I have the same issue, one reboot even took down the PS3 so I have never used it since installing it. Looking at the internet it seems that this is common to have it crash a lot. Part of me doubts this, but haven't tried it since last week.

I even updated my firmware just to be sure. Nope.
Yeah, I've heard it's super buggy. I guess that's why they haven't bothered releasing it outside the US, you guys are the beta testers.

    Blah blah The Drop.
    PlayStation Network

BioShock – BioShock is a narrative-driven action experience that allows players to do the impossible as they journey through an amazing, immersive and terrifying world. Caught between powerful forces and hunted down by genetically mutated citizens, the player will come to grips with the mysterious and fascinating world of Rapture, a distinct Art Deco underwater utopia gone mad. BioShock not only challenges the players’ capacity to adapt and survive, but brings to question their values and commitment to the inhabitants of Rapture. With smart and adaptive AI, no encounter ever plays out the same, while numerous customization options provide gamers with an experience that adapts to their playing style.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 – Co-developed by Infinity Ward and Sledgehammer Games, Modern Warfare 3 delivers a full assault on gamers’ senses, including an intense single-player campaign that picks up immediately following the events of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and escalates into World War 3, as well as groundbreaking upgrades to the beloved Special Ops like the all-new Survival Mode. Special Ops serves as the perfect springboard to Modern Warfare 3′s re-imagined multiplayer, featuring the series’ trademark visceral gun-on-gun combat, a revamped pointstreak system with the introduction of “Strike Packages,” devastating new modes like “Kill Confirmed” and other gameplay enhancements, new features and a bevy of new weapons, equipment, and perks.

The House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Cut – It’s survival horror as it’s never been seen before! The House of the Dead: Overkill is a pulp-style take on the classic SEGA light-gun shooter series. The game takes place as Special Agent G — the hero of The House Of The Dead series — is given his first assignment fresh out of the AMS academy. Teamed up with hard-boiled Detective Washington, they are sent to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. Little do they know what blood-soaked mutant depravity awaits them in the streets and swamps of Bayou City…

The Extended Cut of The House of the Dead: Overkill presents the game for the first time in full HD with 3D support and PlayStation Move compatibility on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. With all seven stages of the original re-mastered and two brand new scenarios added to this gruesome shooter, the ‘baddest’ just got bigger!

Zen Pinball 2 (Also on PS Vita) – The sequel to the popular pinball game by Zen Studios, Zen Pinball 2 features an abundance of exciting new features and updates, making it the premiere pinball platform on PS3 and PS Vita.

    Demos

    Rainbow Moon

    PlayStation 2 Classic

Suzuki TT Superbikes: Real Road Racing Championship – Suzuki TT Superbikes features more than 50 vehicles from all over the world, and includes the world famous 37.73 mile Isle of Mann racetrack. For the highest level of realism possible, the course itself has been mapped using data supplied by the government and data captured by the development team. In addition to the traditional racing, the game also features a “Mad Sunday” mode that brings riders from all over the world to test their chops on the mountain. Supplementary modes, such as two-player split-screen and sidecar multiplayer are also included, as are bikes from all classes — from 125cc all the way to the F1 1000ccs!

So, not a whole lot. Rainbow Moon finally gets a demo for folks on the fence about it, but being an RPG, I'm not sure how convincing it'll be. House of the Dead: Overkill, which I swear was released already. Zen Pinball 2 will be on a lot of radars, I'm sure. And beyond that, just Bioshock and MW3 which will probably not be priced in a friendly way, knowing Activision.

Why would anyone buy Bioshock anyway? You can just wait till Infinite finally comes out, buy it (on PS3) and get it for free.

So, a few surprises here. Remember Treasure Park, one of the apps announced alongside Paint Park (and Wake-Up Club) months ago? Well....it's out now. With absolutely no fanfare. Seems legit. It also seems like the update posts might include whatever PSP titles (possibly PSOne as well, when they get those sorted out, schedule-wise) have been officially added to the Vita's storefront and are, as such, 'officially' completely compatible. This is progress. But I feel like Growlanser was downloadable before today - or was that just using the PS3 transfer method?

Beyond that, I'm curious about Zen Pinball 2 and admittedly have limited knowledge about it. Does it have its own tables as well as being able to support all the DLC (and original?) tables from the first, or is it just a hub to sort of bring everything together? I would assume it's the former, but I really have no idea. Just hasn't been something I've been following personally, but I know it's popular and it's a free download it seems, so some people might grab it just to get it.

Also, I've bolded the Valkyria Chronicles DLC Price Drops because, look, just buy them if you haven't already. And if you have the game. Actually, just buy them and then find the game if you don't. I'm sure future efforts are a lost cause because Sega is crumbling, but the game itself is wonderful and the Selvaria DLC at the very least, is really good as well.

it doesnt have its own tables per se, but the Plants Vs Zombies table just came out today so thats new anyway. mainly it gets all the tables into one hub and integrates the friends leaderboards stuff from marvel into the original tables etc. also you can demo all the tables now, which is great.

i got #3 in the world on the Mars table currently, but im going to assume thats because not many people have played it at this point. i did get like 10x any of my old scores for it though, so im still pretty stoked.

Does it import all of the ZP1 tables? If so, I'll download it just for a better hub. I tend to buy tables on 360, but since they refuse to release Tesla over there I still play ZP every now and then.

That's actually been my biggest issue so far. I got all the tables downloaded/imported on my Vita, but it appears that the PSN only has the Vita files up for some of the tables/packs, so my ZP2 looks really bleak and empty on the PS3. The in-game "import tables" function seems to not work nearly as well as I'd hoped it would.

Pretty rubbish update really. I was looking forward to two things this week, Tomba and Machinarium (the latter is going to be free for PS+) but they were both delayed for however long it takes them to fix the problems. So annoying. I guess I'll buy Crash 2 and Crash 3, as they're on sale, but that's about it.

Plants Vs Zombies is really really fun so far. ive only played it a couple times, but i would highly recommend it. plus i grabbed Earth Defense Force, because why not. that one seems fun too but i havent dug into it much. its got a giant robot thing on it, so thats cool.

Anyone got any opinions on that Red Johnson Chronicles game? The demo seemed decent, if a little too reliant on insta-fail QTEs. I ask cause apparently it's coming out on XBLA next week or something and that reminded me it existed.

i grabbed Space Channel 5 pt 2, since its on sale for $3. that game is every bit as awesome as i remember it being. all the fmv in the port is incredibly low res and shitty looking, but aside from that its a blast.

I need more PSN friends who play Zen Pinball 2.

If you're looking for scores to beat (I'm not very good), send Rockpaste an invite and say you're from Penny Arcade.

add me too, im at least as bad as Rockpaste. my psn is Ah_Pook.

Both of you fine gents may add me if it would please you. I just downloaded ZP2 because, like Temple of Montezuma, it was free and let you compete/compare progress with friends. So, feel free to send me a request if you want more PSN friends. I want more games for my Vita that have this feature

Machinarium's a late addition on the PAL PSN! Free for PS+ users.

@cooljammer00: I haven't played it but from what I remember hearing, Red Johnson's is a low budget, mediocre Heavy Rain-alike adventure game. The new one's coming to PSN next week as well.

La Pucelle next week in US store.

It's a decent enough game but this localization is rough.

I remember thinking at the time that La Pucelle was more fun than Disgaea despite being an older game (though the English version was released later).

It's less complicated in many ways and flows better. D1 is the better game if/when you can rein in the beastly game mechanics.

Is there a reason that the HD version of Peace Walker isn't on the PSN?
    The other two are..

If it follows the same release schedule as the US, expect it next week.

Loved Scott Pilgrim, and I'm excited to see what they did with DD Neon.

Is everyone seeing the "25% off a 1-year PS+ subscription" offer, running until the 19th? It's tempting, but right at this moment there really aren't many games being offered that I've not played. I think Saints Row 2 is about the only one I'd be interested in, but that's not enough to sway me. I need convincing, is what I'm saying.

Especially since Saints row 2 runs terribly on PS3. Is the discount available for US members too? I'm set till February on the primary EU account but the US one ran out.

It's euro only and makes their Plus price the same as ours, 49.99.

Seriously, those of you on the fence, go on eBay and buy a sub for 35 bucks, it more than pays for itself in a month or two. Just like Xbox Live subs, there is zero reason to pay msrp for these things.

Between getting a Steam capable computer and subscribing to Plus my gaming spending has probably gone down by at least 50%. It seems I always have something to play and no reason to grab anything new. I have thought about re-buying SR2 given it does feel kind of clunky on the PS3.
