I not sure if anyone is reading this Comic. But where i live which is a small town area the comic at times can be hard to find when a new issuse is out. I've never been a huge comic book guy, liked graphic novels and things along those lines. But at my local store my buddy that worked there showed me 'Orc Stain'. The art style is the first thing that really appealed to me. The artist just goes over the top on everything and the world hes created can be a bit fucked up at times. I mean the world currency is made by chopping another dics orc off and slicing it up to make your money. Like everything in the world looks to alive and breathing in someway. I strongly suggest that everyone give this a read its only on Issue #7 so it wont be hard to chatch up. Theres also a hardcover out with the first 5-6 with a great mini wiki of the world in the back.

This comic has a few fervent devotees on this forum. I read the first issue, enjoyed it, couldn't find the rest, and have been meaning to buy the collected edition ever since. I should really get on that.

Also, if you haven't read it yet, check out Stokoe's other work in Won Ton Soup, of which there are two volumes.

If you can find a copy, you should also try out Brandon Graham's King City. He's a friend of James Stokoe, and their work has a similarly manic, offbeat tone.

I need to buy the trade. I have four issues I think. It is awesome. Stokoe is one of my favorite artists ever.

I play games on ps3. My PSN is DouglasDanger.

I'll tell you this: I certainly did not expect the bonus content at the end of the trade (namely, how to turn an orc-dick into coins).

I'm very undecided on the series. Stokoe is an amazing artist, and the comic clearly has a lot of interesting stuff going on, but I'm honestly uncomfortable with the fact that one of the central motivations for almost all of the characters - and therefore something that is discussed and performed a whole lot - is the act of chopping off dicks, and either wearing them like little decorative ribbons or cutting them into disks to make currency. I guess I'm just a huge prude. Removal of any body parts in general evokes a very visceral body horror reaction in me, and the fact that it's genitalia adds another level of intensity to the whole thing. Using body parts for currency gives me (to use a scientific term) the heebie-jeebies. It all certainly makes sense in context (the orc culture, as presented, totally seems like the right place for dick-coins), and after a while I sort of got acclimated and stopped registering the dismemberment, but then I got to the bonus content at the end and saw a full, illustrated how-to guide with instructions on cleaning, dressing, slicing, and baking a penis. This set me back on my heels.
