Actually, since it's Spring, I think we should Hold for a full year.
Too many plans will be messed up if we skip a Spring.
Give The Old World a year break.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at in my earlier post. Just skip 02 and resume the game in 03. We probably shouldn't finalize our orders to give Doe enough time to get his power back.

In an amazing display of fair play, everyone did indeed hold (well, except Turkey who's amusing invalid orders resulted in the same outcome) . I suggest we allow these next 6 days to pass, again ordering Holds and wait for Doe to come back. Hopefully this extra week will allow him the time to get his power back.

I am disappointed in all of you. Not because one of you didn't choose to attack, but because none of you convinced someone else to attack

This is Diplomacy

Two of you should have convinced a third to attack instead of hold by saying you were going to do it too. Then of course not attack, which would put the target on the third, which would allow the two to make a backdoor push at winning together while the focus was on the third.

Many (most?) veteran players of online diplomacy would laugh at what we did right as they drove in the knife. If I wasn't intent on trying to make this a common game here on PA, I'd have put serious thought into it.

What can I say, I have ulterior motives in this game and thus, I'm on my best behavior (for Diplomacy).

Eh, this kind of agreement wouldn't be reached by most people in an online game.

Also, it's the difference between inside and outside of the game. In the game, I'm trying to win at all costs, outside I'm trying to be a decent human being.

It would've been very Diplomacy-esque if someone would've broken the Truce of New York but I'm glad no one did.
Also, 38th, lets us know when you're ready to go again.
Then, we can finalize our Fall 1902 Hold orders.

But now the sky was finally clearing, and the people reluctantly begin to resume their previous lives. For the crowned heads of Europe, war looms as old enmities are renewed once more.
