Breast cancer is the easiest to detect, treat, and fix. My mom was diagnosed a year ago and she's fine. Don't start freaking out about the curse of a higher power just yet, josh.

The biggest thing for me right now is that I feel totally out of control. Before shit started happening I felt like even if issues came up I could keep things locked down. I'm also going through the worst time in my life (psychologically speaking) and I feel like it just doesn't matter and I need to always be stepping up to the plate anyway. I mean, they have cancer; my issues can't compare.

Rrr. Today is a bad day.

On another note, I do go in for a follow-up with the psych clinic today and will hopefully be evaluated in a way that helps me instead of making things tougher. With all the anti-depressant issues I'm going through right now I don't think I could take it if things became more unmanageable.

But you pretty much just put it out of your mind and focus on what you need to do today. Don't worry about shit you can't control, focus on the shit you can. Maintain intertia, never stop doing the things that drive you in life. Engross yourself in something such that it takes your mind off things.

Part of the reason why I'm having trouble now is that I reached my life goal, becoming a lawyer, and subsequently lost the job I thought I was going to have. I don't have a plan and I am far, far too ill to get myself back on the right track quickly enough. When I have clear goals and a clear path, I can pull myself over pain and coals to get shit done.

So can you.

In '06, I had a JoATs moment where everything that could go wrong, did.

6 years later, my life is in a good spot, and I'm expecting my first child. I never thought I'd get over my mom's death or the failure of my first marriage (at the same time).

I didn't want to use specifics, but I couldn't think of a way to say that with enough perseverance, you can get through anything. I wish you luck Josh.

Sorry I haven't been around much, peeps. Been a busy week and a half or so.

So. Good news/bad news.

Christina had her last chemo treatment on Thursday. So if her next scan shows enough progress, we're done with chemotherapy. Yay.

Unfortunately, I had a show tonight that I've been on the hook for since last year (I'm in an Irish band, St. Patty's day is kind of booked far in advance). To keep things easy on the wife I took the kids to the show with me (it was all ages). Well, in 2 hours she went from perfectly normal to spiking a huge fever. I got a bunch of calls from her family while I was on stage and I had to cancel the show and run.

We got her to the hospital, and now she's at 104 degrees. So... we'll see what happens.

The hospital is backed up, unfortunately, but they at least got her in a room since she's immunocompromised.
