So to simply avoid feeding Akali, you HAVE to blow 400g early on an oracles that you will probably lose to a gank, and you HAVE to spend more money on a negatron or something that you wouldn't normally get that early? I don't know about you but that kind of money makes a pretty big difference in whether I can be any sort of effective!

I find Akali is less of a threat in dominion when I play fiddle with the vision-on-spell-hit item, because then I can silence and fear her forever. I wish those vision items were in summoner's rift!

AP/tank Soraka with hextech sweeper is suuuuper fun against Akali : D

Anyway you don't need to get an early oracle's but having vision wards available can be super useful against her.

But just not dying to Akali in lane isn't countering her. She is perfectly capable at farming, and scales well with the money. Even if your mid whoever isn't in danger of dying in two hits to her your 3-level-disadvantage support or physical carry or whoever probably is. But she is reasonably killable in lane and can be stopped and focused if you devote the resources to it I don't think she's either broken or horrible I like her she's pretty fun : (

leblanc ditto in dominion was HILARIOUS
i got a deathfire grasp which meant i had more 4:00 burst than her so I won early on
then she had a deathcap so she had more burst at like 8:00
then I had a deathfire AND a deathcap and she had a deathcap and a void staff so I won every leblanc match for the rest of the game

My issue with Akali is that the amount of time and skill required to get her to the point where you absolutely must kill her immediately every teamfight isn't really in line with most other champions.

how do you like leblanc on dominion? i like playing her a lot, but on dominion i felt oddly constricted by her ult cooldown (even though it's pretty low)

whenever it was down, the tanky dps would roll into town and i couldn't defend at all

i didn't play against a tanky dps team and i got fed out of control, so it was delightful
still lost the game but it was down to the wire and I was in first place

I really like fiddle in dominion, I'm not sure he's particularly good at it, but it's well suited to crowstorming and the bouncy crow is good at interrupting caps. Plus his fear is always great in small fights.

There's no reason not to get the counter to your lane-mate early.

Want to know why Locicero dominates as Ryze? He's a tanky mage. You rush tear, then the item to counter your opposing lane-mate. Then you win your lane.

Seems to be some kind of correlation between defense and winning your lane.

Then you could go one of those scary wary tanky DPS that everyone and absolutely everyone whines about (including myself at MULTIPLE points in time).

Why do they do so well? They get TANK items and then annihilate the opposition because they got their ONE offensive item then built defense.

Also I'd really pay to see an Irelia lose to an Akali post Negatron.

id rather use pink wards than oracles to counter akali, but that's mostly based on not wanting to be as much of a target

I just played a game where the other teams talon would constantly sneak around all of us and steal our mid point. I was playing Alistair and was super slow so even though I could see him do it i could rarely get there in time to stop him. Of course the other people didn't care until i swore at them a bit about it. The game ended up being very close and we basically lost because of these small caps.
