    At Electronics Boutique my Baldur's Gate had a scratch on the second-to-last disc and they replaced it for me on the spot, within about thirty seconds, without even checking the receipt

    Although come to think of it maybe that was just laziness but whatever after prior experiences at retail outlets it impressed kid-me

    (That's right my most memorable customer service anecdote is years old and regards a game)

    A friend of mine had just bought a new expensive plasma television from Target. Within a month, his kid threw something at the screen, essentially destroying it. Someone convinced him to take it back to Target, and sure enough, they just replaced it, no questions asked.
