Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

NO ONE EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION! Oh bugger.
This is my list so far:
The text is all temporary, even the names (although less so than the flavor text.) Anyone have any suggestions for better names or even ideas for achievements? I need to make icons for these here eventually, just figured I'd crowd-source some better ideas. I'll probably condense this list down a bit though.
These are the only achievements that I dislike, everything else seems good.
"Dueling Defense" just seems too difficult to pull off. Winning a duel against someone is already hard, but doing that WHILE defending the final point seems just mean, since if you screw up you would have to buy more duel mini-games.
As for blasting someone off the point as you capture it, I don't know how the timing would work for doing that, but more importantly, don't airblasts from the final point usually knock people over the pit, and not into it? (I may be wrong, as I haven't seen or experienced that too often).
The sandvich one just needs to ONLY be for BLU, because a RED heavy letting the enemy win so he gets cheevos would probably be the worst thing to happen to video games since ET.
Dueling Defense was a just an idea I tossed out there, really, it'll probably be cut. But slightly harder cheevos aren't always bad.
And blasting off the point doesn't mean into the pit. Basically pushing someone off the capture point as you are on it is all that is, which is a pretty common event.
But helping me think about these in different ways is EXACTLY what I need, so thanks.

Back-Capped should be Ridge Racer
also
The Final Countdown: Completely cap the final point without being interrupted.
It will be pretty hard, but I think one should be. Also the name is great. Also, add part of the song when someone completes it, ending the clip when the next round starts, however, if it happens before the end of a game (before map-switch) the song remains playing though the scoreboard extra time.
(I understand this is a silly idea. The first 2 name changes are serious, though.)
Funny, the last time I played on Stoneyridge I won a duel while on defense.
Players: 0/24
I'm guessing not.
Yeah, probably no HonCing, unfortunately.
Sandman
Bonk! Atomic Punch
Short Circuit
Jag
I never knew the equalizer taunt would go through the gate. Sure it's not a bug?
I'm sure it is.
...
Heh.
Feelin' good
They are an extension of the notion of a "Strange Weapon", which is obtained from certain series of crates. A Strange Weapon tracks how many gets you get with it and changes name as it "levels up"; this is purely aesthetic and has no effect on gameplay. A Strange Part allows you to further customize a Strange Weapon with another type of tracking statistic, such as headshots made or building destroyed (lol quoting wiki). So, more nerd-wankery. Nothing really important if you're trying to stay competitive.
I remember my first triple. An emotional moment, had to back up and wipe a tear from my eye. Server peeps freaked out in VC.
It only works on some maps.. every gate on dustbowl, for example. Newer maps don't have the problem.
I guess we should check if you can do it on stoneyridge at some point.
Maybe, considering they have yet to follow up on the "TF2012" news post (Or maybe they did, and I just missed it?).
Look at this guy, who only cares about clipping and nothing else.
Also, how much are those sexy Engineer pants going for these days?
Put in some hats and stuff. They look neat.
No one around here cares about TF2 anymore.
When an update comes that adds more than hats or nobuild zones to maps I'll begin to care
And people should totally get on tonight and we'll have a wonderful time playing awful maps.
COME FORTH, AMATERASU!
This is probably going to sound weird coming from me of all people, but I less lost interest in the game than lost respect for it. Enough of the things they added were blatant money grabs ($100 to announce giving a gift to someone in the game? Seriously?) without addressing embarrassing flaws that have been around forever (like the pantomimed reload animations) that it really just feels like a way for Valve to draw money out of the audience instead of a best effort. I have nothing against the free-to-play concept, but this is not an implementation I wish to support-- even implicitly, by showing up on the ratings. I'll boot up the game for map tests, because that supports people who actually seem to be passionate about building the game, but nothing else.
