Ken Rolston - RPG... Paranoia?

SquashuaSquashua __BANNED USERS regular

Haven't seen anyone discuss this yet, so...
Joystiq delivered unto us an interview with Big Huge designer Brian Reynolds concerning Catan Live. I'll take any opportunity to force boardgames down into your esophagus, to be sure, but in this specific case I had another motive: Big Huge Games also announced that they had begun work on an RPG. Specifically, an RPG whose hook was baited so richly that it hauled Ken Rolston - yes, that Ken Rolston - out of retirement bliss and back into the din of game development.

Paranoia? I didn't see Costikyan's name mentioned.

Maybe everyone's afraid Friend Computer might take them down for discussing this? Or are mine eyes blocked from seeing the actual discussion thread by a Commie Mutant Traitor?

I'd be bouncing off the walls if it were true (because happiness is mandatory), but I don't see anything there that even hints at the property being Paranoia -- Ken Rolston has worked on a -lot- of different RPGs.

    OHGODOHGODOHGOD!

If this turns out to be only vaguely Paranoia-related, I will die from a happiness overdose one day before it's released.

    What's this Paranoia jibber-jabber?

    And who's Ken Rolston?

You can make fun of me for not knowing this stuff.

You should Google it, look at Paranoia LIVE, and The Toothpaste Accident.

Food, Paranoia is a great game. A great game about happiness and how computers can make us happy. I am happy that Paranoia has made me happy.

I have never played Paranoia. In fact, my knowledge about it is next to nil.

I have full plans of changing this at PAX '07 if at all possible.

There was a steam sig here. It's gone now.

Considering that I'm High Programmer Squash-U-AAH, certainly.

I won't bother to waste my time questioning your clearance, and ability to not only read but post a response, citizen.

I'll just let you turn yourself in. Please report to the nearest confession facility.

I'm afraid there is not enough happiness in this thread, citizens!
Don't you know that sub-par levels of cheerfulness lead to filesharing and terrorism?

I'd like everyone to pull their weight and be as happy they can be for the greater good, comrades.

    COMRADES?

You're not a COMMUNIST, are you?

    What?
    Ofcourse not! That's preposterous!

If I was a commie, I'd be saying things like "Down with the bourgeois oppressors of the working classes!!!" or "Join the glorious people's revolution! Don't let Comrade McStalin's work go to waste!"

But I'm not, so there. >_>

Squashua, your ability to detect paranoia-related possibilities is finely honed...perhaps too finely honed to be entirely natural. Is there a "talent" you'd like to register with Friend Computer? hmm?!?!?

I'm already fully registered and Friend Computer knows this.

And should know it as well; it's a very common fact.

Why don't you know this fact, citizen?
