My iPod's having problems.

Ever since I got the latest software update on Monday, my iPod Touch has been having problems. At first, whole scathes of my songs refused to get added from iTunes, and eventually I got a software restore to work. But while I now have all the songs, the playlists aren't working right. For example, in my top 50 songs list, only about 28 make it into the iPod's version of the playlist, even if it works fine in iTunes. The same songs won't show up on new playlists, and I can even edit the list manually in the iPod and it reverts the next time I sync. Does anyone have suggestions for what's going on?
You know what? Nanowrimo's cancelled on account of the world is stupid.
